I HAD TO SUE THEM!!! AVOID!!! AVOID!!! AVOID!!! 8/22/2010

I used Texaco Express Lube's $19.00 Oil Change Special a total of two times. The deal is great; but the second time I went to this place turned into a complete nightmare. The Oil change was fine. But apparently when they checked my fluids they ""misplaced"" my radiator cap. To make a long story short, my radiator cap blew off on the interstate after I left and my vehicle's engine quickly over-heated. They helped initially with a $750 repair on the engine, which were easily identifiable damaged parts (distribution cap & rotor, new plugs, etc...), to a repair shop of my choice of course, but the buck stopped there. At least that's what they thought. I ended up suing them, and winning a judgment in Fulton County Magistrate Court for a total of $3,500.00 (three thousand five hundred dollars), which I can agree is fair. This was November of 2009. I have yet to be paid my judgment. My experience with Mr. Phil Mendell, the operations manager, was for the lack of a better word, horrendous. After he paid that first repair, grudgingly of course, then realized the damage they had done to my vehicle, his attitude literally turned into a viscous, nasty, ""you ain't nobody"", literally ""F. you - sue me"" type attitude. And that is exactly what I did. I proved that no one at the establishment at the time - even held an ASE Certification. They even had video - which the judge didn't even care to look at. Because the pictures I had clearly showed a radiator cap - which had no damage - that had been indeed misplaced, causing it to blow off and spew hot water and antifreeze all over the engine, thereby causing the engine to over-heat and cause significant internal as well as external damage. I plan to get my money - real soon - and publicize what happened, and hopefully put Mr. Terry Fowler out of business, and Mr. Phil Mendell and Mr. Steven Temple on the unemployment list. I would appreciate it if you helped me. Thanks in advance. - Scorned Consumer more

Worst oil change in town 12/30/2009

Try and sell you things you don't need every time. They try and get you to replace things even if they are brand new. There's an interesting article about them on CBS Atlanta's website from in November of this year. They went undercover and found a lot of shady things about this company and location. Cons: complete rip off more

WORST PLACE TO TAKE YOUR CAR 12/30/2009

I had a friend that took a car her a couple years back and had some major problems. She was charged to fix a part which they didn't even fix and ultimately were very rude to her and refused to give her money back. That's why I stayed away from this Xpress Lube. Well, earlier this week I needed a quick oil change and foolishly decided to stop by this place. They told me I needed new transmission fluid and a new air filter, which I had replaced not even two months ago. So they were definitely trying to get me to replace things that didnt need replacing!! Next they pulled out a dirty cabin air filter and spilled leaves down into the motor. So next you'd think theyd do something to remove the leaves before turning on the car and damaging the motor...WRONG, they gave me the car back and ultimately the leaves broke the motor breaking the blower fan. I brought it back in, they told me they had fixed it and gave me the car back. It was still broken, then the mechanic insisted it was fixed!?! It obviously was still the same! Then they said they would fix it but I had to take it to a shop down the street because they didnt have the proper tools to fix it. Well they ended up telling me the motor would cost 150 plus labor. I talked to the store manager and the regional manager? Phil who told me it was all my fault for not replacing my filters sooner and that I was dirty!!! The regional manager was very rude over the phone, he basically yelled at me and told me how this was all my fault over and over. Extremely rude and unprofessional. I questioned why they would tell me they were fixing my car free of charge, make me wait, and then lie that my car was fixed. He basically ignored all the logical points I had to make and just continued to raise his voica and tell me it was all my fault. BEWARE!!! DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!!! Cons: dishonest, rude, worst customer service more

Very, very dishonest. Be careful. Better yet, stay away! 3/3/2009

If I could give these guys a rating less than one star, I really would. Moving on... my advice is to get every quote they give you verbally in writing, because the final price will surely change.\r \r They lure you in with supposedly great deals for services, only to end up telling you that you need more work on your car than you really do. The verbal price I was given for the service they offered, differed markedly ($70 difference) from the price they tried to bill me. And of course the sales person denied he had ever given me a verbal quote- a quote that I had asked him to repeat three different times just to be sure we were clear about the cost of the service he was performing.\r \r From the management on down, the staff was rude, disrespectful and beyond incompetent. I wish this was an isolated incident, but since this debacle, I've encountered other folks that have had similar if not worse experiences with them. Just go across the street to the car wash, which offers oil changes as well, and far better customer service and they'll tell you how dishonest these guys are.\r \r They attempt to strong arm you into paying by holding your vehicle hostage and are not above calling the cops on you for refusing to pay. What kind of customer service is that? I stood my ground, and the policeman they called actually ended up intervening on my behalf, and in the end, I got my car back and they took the exorbitant charges off my bill.\r \r I will never go to this shop again! If you choose to go, just be clear about what it is you want and get everything in writing. If you end up in a similar situation, stand your ground. They WILL attempt to intimidate you by threatening to call the police!\r \r My advice... stay away! They're scam artists!!!!\r Edit - Delete Cons: scam artists masquerading as mechanics- no surprise there, dishonest, horrendous customer service more
