Yeah so everyone goes off about this place, the only good thing about it is that it's open 24 hours. They do have good value meats if you dare dig thorugh the freezer full of expired meats to MAYBE grab something valueable. Other than that, they are overpriced, and the people that work there are unfriendly and stoned. Last time we went there the employees were smoking weed in freezer, and the strawberries were literally rotten and moldy. We used to go there all the time to check out the seasonal fruit and veggies, I also used to buy by perennials there, not so much anymore. After seeing the strawberries and having my children smell the marijuana smoke the wafted through the store.. I'll NEVER go back again. Besides the only people that find places like this "GREAT!" are yuppies and hippies. So blame the hippies for the weed and the yuppies who are clueless about the weed for the high prices. I guess that's what the company should expect when they hire nothing bu 21 year old bar flies to run their stores. more

Great Variety of Produce, Meats, Wines and Plants 3/30/2006

From fresh fruit and veggies to T-bone steaks, to fuschia baskets, Tacoma Boys has a lot to offer. Their selection of wines has grown extensively in the past year, too. They have a terrific selection of Washington State wines. Prices are very good. I visit weekly. The staff is friendly and helpful. more

From the street visible from the freeway, this place looks like a produce market. Upon entering the store's area, however, I could tell it was much more. It is a full fledged grocery highlighting unique and local products. A pleasing gardening area - with fresh herbs and flowers - welcomed me into the store. Once inside, cheeses and cut flowers greeted me. Then there's the fresh local produce, packaged baked items, grains, frozen local fruit/items - all presented in an atmosphere reminiscent of a local upscale farm. It's just great. There's even a wine collection boasting 2000 varieties. It's fun to peruse this area. I saw many local wines. In fact, it's so diverse there is even a Wine Expert available to assist you. Great atmosphere, helpful service, and reasonable prices. This is a fantastic place. more
