First of all, let me be the first to say that I LOVE TGI FRIDAYS! Food is good, atmosphere is hip and hapening, and it's nice to go someplace where the average age of the patrons is under 40.
But when you look at is as value for your money, it's not the best place out there. Drinks & entrees are expensive, and there are other places (Chili's, Applebees, etc) that have the same atmosphere and a full bar, for considerably less.
I recently when there with my husband and my sister... we didn't even eat dinner, we each had 2 drinks and split an appetizer, and the bill was over $60.
If you're looking for a fun night out with friends and plan on having a few drinks... I recoment Alioli's (new on Brookside, with GREAT sangria by the pitcher), Asahi Sushi (71st and Memorial), and Bourbon Street (15th). All have a fun atmosphere, and you'll wind up spending about half of what you'd spend in Friday's.
If you're looking for a place to take a date... try Mary's Itallian tratoria on 15th. Wine Carafes are $7, and it's good wine. And almost entrees are in the $10-$12 range.
