If you have good credit and 5-10% to put down on a house, you'll pay less closing costs going to a bank.
If, on the other hand, you have a more difficult loan (credit problems, no down payment, or you're looking for a 2nd home or rental), Gateway is a great place to go.
They can take your "difficult" mortgage and shop it around to several lenders. With sub-prime loans, you'd be surprised at the rate difference you'll see between different lenders.
The one drawback - your closing costs will be $500-$1000 higher than at a bank. But, if you get a better interest rate, it's well worth it.

On the day we had for closing the workers were very prompt in handling all the business paperwork and we just had to sign and we were on our way. Very nice people!

I am currently attempting to close through Executives Title (same as Delta, I suppose). I am selling a property, the closing is tomorrow, I have left messages with my closer and her processor for 3 days, my husband can't get hold of a supervisor, and my realtor and I have both been left in the dark as to what time the closing is. My husband is military and has already put in for leave, so he has to take the day off no matter what now. On top of everything else, they know we have to drive in from OKC and, since there are hazardous driving conditions due to ice and snow, we will most likely need to leave about 3 hours early -- you know, as a courtesy to them to ensure that we are not responsible for delay of closing. At this point, I just want to pre-sign since my husband has taken the day off and I don't know that he will be able to take a day off next week, but NO ONE WILL CALL ANY OF US BACK!!! I would definitely recommend that anyone considering title companies avoid Executives at all costs. (FYI, I spent many years in the mortgage business in Tulsa and OKC - you just don't let a customer wait this long for a response!)

We closed one one loan (rent house) with American... they were rather a pain to work with. And when it came time to close, I couldn't find a place to park anywhere (they're downtown).
I'd recomend Guarantee Abstract over American, but if you HAVE to do it downtown, they do get the job done... just a few extra headaches.

We were going to use Tulsa Abstract to close on a rent house... but they only returned out calls sporadically, and we finally gave up on them. We took our business to Guarantee instead.
Maybe I just had a run of bad luck, but if you run into the same situation, just know that you aren't the first one!
