Sweet Occasions And More Andersonville

This place is used to be the place in Andersonville. Not so anymore. The last couple of times I've been in there I've noticed most of the really good employees are gone and the service is now sub par. Very slow and with attitude--like they're doing me a favor by scooping me some ice cream. The portions are also smaller and I think the prices have gone up. I might be wrong, but the brownies don't taste the same and the really good cookies like the espresso cookie and lemon cookies are gone. more

This place used to be a fantastic. I have been going there for the past 2 years and went today for the first time in about 6 months. What an awful experience. The prices seem to have gone up and portions smaller/more difficult to eat. I got a sloth, per the usual, and was handed to me in a cup; they used to be plastic bowls with covers. I hate to sound like a cow, but seriously..it was no where near worth $8 plus bucks! I could have gone to the grocery store, paid just as much, and had it for the next 2 weeks. Also, it was an apparent travisty to ask for a different ice cream beside vanilla; if i am going to pay $8 plus, why the attitude?! I am not sure if the man was the manager or what, but get him out of there. more

This place is great! This new location is family friendly and is so bright and warm. We always go for dessert - they have awesome ice cream flavors and tons of cakes. But we just realized how good their regular food is too. I love their salads - try the summer fling! Sometimes you have to wait a little bit but that's how it is with any good ice cream joint, especially in the summer time. And the service is really friendly so we think it's definitely worth the trip. more

I'm don't know what happened to this branch of my beloved Sweet Occasions? I am a regular at the Damen store where the regular employees (Joe, Cooper, The Gothic Chick, and whoever else is working) always greet me, remember me, and treat me like a good friend. I have never had this feeling at the Andersonville store!! The owners are really nice people (and I think they own both stores) and the store will be great in the future but I think they just stretched themselves tooo thin. They don't even stock the Original Store anymore but I still keep going back for the people that just brighten my day! Thanks to all the employees of the Damen Sweet Occasions and Good Luck to the Andersonville staff (you guys will make it through!) BRING BACK MY DAMEN PARADISE!!!! I love this new cafe and sweets place. The sandwiches (especially the French Traditional) are tasty without being too heavy. And the cakes are just sublime! I really love the Coconut Cake and Carrot Cake. Though the only down-fall is that they don't have cupcakes! Hope they will soon. The ice cream is good too. Light, relaxing atmosphere.
