I became a sushi lover... 7/11/2010

I am really not a sushi fan, but when my sister brought me here, I became one. It's not just a few pieces of fish - it was art on a plate. The atmosphere was also definitely a plus. more

Best sushi in Southeast US 12/1/2009

Just by pure luck discovered Shushi-Huku in 2001. Since then ownership changed twice, and it is one of the oldest running restaurants in the area. Pros: Fresh, clean, crisp, honest sushi bar and restaurant Cons: Still looking for one! Can't find any. more

The Chicken was so juicy and the Sushi was so good. The servings were great not to much but not to little. Pros: awesome Terryaki Chicken Cons: nothing more

BEST sushi EVER 11/2/2009

This place has the BEST and most fresh sushi ever! i especially enjoy having the chef jay prepare whatever is the freshest and then he can fill you in on where the fish is from, why it's fresh... he seems to know his stuff and i always feel like the relationship we have is what a japanese restaurant is supposed to feel like. beyond the sushi, the rolls are just amazing here. the sauce is very tasteful but does not overpower and all of it comes together in a mouth full of mmmm. i'm craving it as i write this review! Pros: best fresh sushi esp uni, really good rolls, A+++ food Cons: gets a bit packed but that's a good thing more

Awesome Sushi place 5/24/2008

This sushi place is awesome. It was literally the best sushi I've ever had. Some sushi I've had elsewhere have been sub-par or not fresh, but this place had very fresh sushi and it tasted great. The customer service was great and quick, very polite and accommodating. They really cared about the customers, constantly making sure that I was taken care of. If you miss this place, you're missing out. Pros: Service more

Believe the hype! Sushi so good it melts, rolls unlike any other, and yes, ladies in kimonos... AND hot towels before/after serving 5/13/2008

i know how it is to read rants &ravings, and when you dine there yourself, you're dismayed. People have such different tastes, i understand that. but the disparity in MY dining experience to those of the avid. Ugh i feel fooled too often. Pros: Unique service (servers in kimonos), plenty parking, very cool privite rooms, and AMAZING FOOD! Cons: can be a bit pricey compared to other places but you really do get value more

Sushi experience we deserve :) 5/12/2008

Dining at Sushi Huku was an excellent experience overall. As a avid lover of Japanese cuisine, Sushi Huku was a surprise diamond in the rough. They had some really great kitchen food as well as various beverages. What really sold Sushi Huku to me were the special rolls that they had. The various ingredients that went into make up a roll went very well together creating a unique and pleasant taste that I was never able to experience before. Tiger roll, one of the rolls served at sushi huku, truly exemplified the wonders created by being creative with your ingredients. Pros: Food, People, Ambiance were all above and beyond even the more famous japanese restaurants I've been to more

Best Sushi Restaurant in Atlanta 1/14/2008

The service is phenomenal and the sushi chefs serve only the best quality fish in town. The restaurant has a very cozy, authentic atmosphere and they serve mainly traditional Japanese food as well as as rolls with a fusion twist. If you appreciate top quality fresh sushi, this place is sure to be one of your favorite spots in town. Pros: Quality and freshness of food, service, authentic ambience more

I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! 12/4/2007

I love this place, I think they have the best sushi in Atlanta! I have had other sushi at other restaurants and nothing compares.. at least not yet! Now I understand that some people may have had a bad experience, but with most restaurants they have good days and bad days. I love this place and will take a drive 45min just to grab something to-go.. LOVE IT, LOVE IT,LOVE IT. (by the way i run a restaurant myself and my bestfriend is a health inspector so we are the hardest critics out there!) Pros: Great Food, Appear Clean(health score), Great Ambience Cons: small parking lot, small cozy so the staff may have a few flubs when the get busy.. Patience is the Key more

Disappointing food and service 8/10/2007

Sushi was only okay and very expensive for small rolls. At least 4 different groups that came in after us left before we even got our food. We waited half hour for a table. A couple with a baby came in 5 minutes before we were seated and got seated right after us. They received their dinner before we even ordered. One of the sushi rolls on platter was wrong, so the waitress removed the entire plate to take it off. Too bad this got rave reviews - atmosphere was great. Hard to beleive they provide food for Ritz Carlton and got great reviews from Zagat. Pros: atmosphere Cons: service and value more

Good stuff 6/22/2007

This was the best sushi I have had in a while. Great service, great chef, an overall great experience. Make a reservation on friday/saturday night. The restaurant is small. Pros: Service, food Cons: Size of restaurant more

I still dream about the sushi. 3/13/2007

This is probably one of the best sushi restaurants in Atlanta. I still dream about the sushi and I found out my friend does, too. I love salmon sushi and the size of the salmon was very generous compared to other sushi I've tried. And we loved the service - our waitress was great and so was the sushi chef. He even made a special recommendation just for us, I assume based on our other sushi orders. This is definitely a place we will return to!! Just remember to make reservations, esp. if you want a booth seat. Pros: Sushi quality, variety, service more

Definitely one of the best sushi establishments in town! 1/11/2007

I tried this place out after running out of other sushi places to go to in the area, and it wasn't that far from where I live. On approaching the restaurant, I was pleasantly surprised by how they've adapted a Japanese motif to the exterior of a would be otherwise boring brick building. Walking in, I knew this place would be good and palatable. The diners inside were actively conversing, obviously enjoying their company as well as the food. The waitstaff, dressed in kimono, were running around attentively. Pros: freshness of ingredients, attentiveness of sushi chef Cons: can be busy more

The Best Sushi 7/3/2006

I love Sushi Huku though I do not get there enough. Authentic and tasty I love it because they sometime just send little things they think you may like to the table (and I usually like them!) Very fresh and very charming establishment. They even supply the sushi for brunch at the Ritz so you know thier sushi is top notch! All the staff is very nice also. Pros: Food and waitstaff more

Best rated by the Japanese 9/30/2005

I am from Japan and all of my Japanese friends agree that Sushi Fuku is the best Japanese restaurant in Atlanta. The Japanese food cannot be more authentic than this place. Many Japanese restaurants in Atlanta are run by non-Japanese Asians. Although such restaurant serve sushi, they are not real thing. Knowing how sich I can get from eating raw fish, I only eat sushi which is made of fresh fish and prepared by qualified sushi chef. In other word, I only eat sushi at Sushi Fuku here in Atlanta. I also love their appetizer dishes which are only wirtten in Japanese. They are very authentic and taste wonderful. If you want to eat real Japanese food, go to this restaurant. more
