Paying for the view! 10/4/2006

This spining restaurant is a very nice spot for out of town tourists. I, for one, is the tourist that visited the space needle like everybody else. The food cannot compare with those popular restaurant; but it still costs more than those fancy restaurant because of it's location and attraction. It is a nice restaurant to impress your date or to bring a out of town friends to. But it is certainly not a good restaurant to visit for gourmet dining. Our entrees were just ok, the braised beef with chocolate sauces and the Seafood Mixed Grill we were not very speical. But it is done nicely, not over cooked nor under. The food was a big greasy than it supposed to be. I don't understand why does it need so much oil to cook seafood. My risotto cake was practically covered in oil. It is lack of the wow factor, however. My waitress wasn't very attentive, we have to waive to get her attention. Overall, it's a tour spot, you are there for the view not the food. Pros: View Cons: pricy, lack of service more

One of Seattle best kept secrets 11/15/2005

Sunday Brunch at the needle is an inspiring event that we share with all guests who come to the Emerald City. A full course breakfast, delightfully served by considerate staff who anticipate your wishes. Pros: Great scenery, Fantastic Food more

Almost perfect! 10/1/2005

Everything about this restaraunt is done perfectly. The decor, the mood, every seat is the best seat in the house. The view is always different because the restaraunt rotates around the needle. They accomodated all of our requests with a smile. They seemed genuinly concerned about how things were and if anything needed changing, which it didn't, it was perfect! They helped with our wine selection and we were able to sample different wines for free untill we decided on one. We had a wonderful night but the bill was massive...close to $200 after tax and tip. Pros: View, Service, Food Cons: Expensive more

I had a great time dining for dinner at Sky City! Everything was great - the food was tasty and the wine list was very impressive! I suggest to go right away! Pros: Parking/Valet, View, Menu more

great 4/28/2003

the space needle is absolutely wonderful. :) I would recommend everyone going to see this, even if you have seen it before more

Get your bearings 3/24/2003

If you've never been to Seattle this may be a good place to start to get an idea of how the city is laid out etc. The monorail ride from downtown was a fun way to get to/from the Space Needle. The tacky giftshop makes the attraction seem very commercial. Pros: Nice view Cons: Expensive more

What a view! 1/13/2003

Spectacular view! Can see most of Seattle from up here. Long line during the day, but gets less crowded at night. Pros: Great view!!! more

I can see for miles and miles 9/29/2002

What a way to kick off our anniversary with lunch on a beautiful day. Our hotel called ahead for reservation. Upon arriving we were promptly moved to the front of line to elevator. Staff was friendly and interested in us. Lunch was excellent. Only the view would compete. Even the staff for the ground floor gift shop went out of their way. The best way to be introduced to Seattle. Did do the observation deck, but after lunch and already getting the 360 view with lunch we could have passed. Pros: view, staff, food more

Pure bliss at 520 ft 9/17/2002

Although not the tallest building in Seattle I found my visit to the Space Needle to be an enjoyable one. The staff was friendly and fun. (especially the tour guides up top) and it had great views all around. The $12 does sound like a lot but I'd do it again. more

ON top of the WORLD! 9/3/2002

Make reservations before going up the Space Needle. If you dont (and just want to go up the elevator), you'll have to pay some kind of fee (I believe it's $12.00) but you might as well eat at their restaurant so you don't have to pay this fee. It's REALLY expensive ($30 + i recall?) but I thought it was well worth it. I went for a special occassion, the service was WONDERFUL, the view was fabulous, and watching the sunset was even better! The Space Needle revolves about once every hour, so you'll get to see everything it has to offer (whether day or night). The dessert is FABULOUS! It's in a bowl filled of dry ice, so its presentation is cute! Pros: GREAT seafood, Good margaritas, great view Cons: Expensive, Hard to find parking more

Get High for Lunch 8/28/2002

If you're going to go up you might as well have lunch there. It's $12 for the elevator alone, but if you eat it's included in the price. You are obligated to spend at least $15, and the prices are high, but so is the experience. The thing is quality and quantity, and the service you get is very good. You do not feel ripped off! Pros: Best View in Town, Exhilarating Elevater more

Lame at night 8/26/2002

Great way to check out the city, but you can't see much at night. more

cool but overpriced 8/15/2002

You can get a awesome view but $12 is a little overpriced to ride an elevator Pros: friendly staff Cons: expensive, medium wait time more

Icon of Seattle 7/26/2002

The restaurant and the view at the top of the Space Needle are spectacular. No other place in Seattle can top it. more

Needle Good But Not The Foodood bad 7/22/2002

Look, the Space Needle is amazing. It is expensive just to go up and look around. However it's free when you have a breakfast, lunch or dinner reservation. You will still pay for the view regardless. It's hard to make bad breakfast, but the lunch and dinner flat out suck, and really expensive. There are many other equally good views in Seattle that are free. From the top of Magnolia, Ballard, West Seattle, Queen Anne, and at these parts of town you are actually seeing the real Seattle. Pros: view Cons: expensive, crowded, food sucks more

Big Disappointment 7/9/2002

Nothing much to see here. If you are interested in going up a tower, go to the CNN tower in Toronto; much more impressive. This attraction is way over rated. Spend you time on a ferry ride. You will have a much better time. more

Shorter than I remembered 6/26/2002

I hadn't been to Seattle for years, but on a recent visit I made a pilgrimmage to the Space Needle. And the funny thing is that it's not nearly as huge as I had remembered. I'm not a big elevator fan, but the ride up to the top took just a few seconds. And the views are amazing. But, at $11 a person, it's a bit pricey. But, then again, you do get entertained by the amusing elevator operators... Pros: Great views Cons: A bit pricey more

Wonderful City Views 6/24/2002

Visitors and residents of Seattle (at least once a year) should take a trip to the Space Needle. There is no better place to take in the views of the city and its surroundings. During the day or even at night, every view is beautiful. Pros: the view, the history more

FUN! 6/20/2002

This was great! A wonderful way to see the city and a great experience! Highly recommended. more

Admit it: it's fun 5/20/2002

Most locals probably haven't visited the top in years, but I did recently and enjoyed myself. You forget how stunning the city is, with the lake and sound and the mountains. Next time you've got guests, don't send them off on their own--go to the top with them. more
