I've seen a few different people at Sine. But, Sheba is my main stylist. I would recommend her to anyone. She's a talented girl. Also, Susan has cut my hair twice. She's a junior stylist, and I've had great results from her. I'm not much for high-maintenance hair, and they've both accomodated me in that area. Ken is a miracle worker! 4/2/2004

After having my hair cut, then fixed at a pricier salon, it looked like my golden retriever had cut it. (Totally uneven, obvious layers) Ken was able to fix it, while giving me the dream cut I had wanted all along. A simple style doesn't necessarily equal a simple cut, and Ken had the technical skill to make it look great. While turning my ""don't"" into a ""do,"" he was a blast to talk to! Sine kicks asssssss! 2/7/2004

Sine is the coolest place to have all your pampering needs taken care of, no matter what you need done. They have a stylist for every type of head, no matter if your hair is curly, straight, coarse, fine, textured, or everything in between. Need your nails or a facial done they got that covered too. Everyone who works there is considerate, sweet, helping, and most important they are all wonderful listeners! Plus the salon itself is hip, colorful and full of style. Every client not only gets up to date hot styles, but they also get education on how to keep their hair looking good between appointments. Awesome!!! Oh and they also just opened up a new salon at Lincoln & Roscoe. I love Sine Qua Non and am happy to be their client, even though it took me 3 visits to pronounce the name correctly (its latin)! That Which You Can Not Live Without 1/30/2004

I have been going to Sine Qua Non for going on 4 years now, and have NEVER left less than THRILLED with my hair. Everyone there is very friendly, personable, knowledgeable about their fabulous product lines, and the stylists are very intuitive on what you want for your hair, what is exciting and stylish, and what you would look great in. I have gone in several times and told Sam ""Do with it what you will"", had no other feedback, and I come out looking like a rock star. They care about how you look and feel, and you will wonder how you ever lived without them! I can not recommend them enough! From celebrities to normal people, they are right for you! What you look for in a salon 1/17/2004

When I get my haircut, the last thing I want is some 'hipper-than-thou' attitude from the staff. I also want a stylist who will take the time to listen to what I want and then deliver. I learned about Sine Qua Non from CitySearch and it seemed this might be finally be the salon I have been looking for. As it turns out, it was BETTER! The entire is friendly and with pretense. The atmosphere is casual, fun and relaxing. And better yet, I got (and still get) the best haircut I've ever had. Sam is my usual stylist, but I doubt it matters who you get. It's a bit of a hike for me to get there, but it is 100% worth it. Leave the downtown salons those who equate attitude with quality. The atmosphere, people, and talent at the Sine Qua Non Salon exceeded my expectations. Summer, my stylist, was very friendly and extremely talented. She gave me the best highlights my poor hair has ever received and I've had many compliments ever since. I first heard of Sine Qua Non a few months back and felt right at home the minute I walked in. Everyone was so considerate of what I needed or wanted. I had some great tea and it didn't take long before Sheba brought me back to cut my hair. It was exactly what I wanted. I get compliments on my hair everywhere I go, and I recommend them to whoever they can get in with. Sine rocks. Pros: good price, lots of parking, quality stylists Cons: NONE, NONE, NONE more

Sheba Rules / Jennifer Relaxes 6/11/2003

Sheba does my hair at Sine'. Cut & colour, and I am one picky chick. She knows how much to cut, how edgy to get without being trendoid, gives me the most amazing deep colour. Can you believe that someone who's been at Sine' for 7 years STILL goes to training regularly at Bumble & Bumble to keep up with the latest skills? I think it's amazing. Jennifer is the esthetiticain extraordinairre! Her facials and glycolics are a slice of heaven! Krystyna & Jennifer do my brows, and I have to say that I don't let just 'anyone' touch 'em. Raisa is wonderful manicure/pedicurist - she just did my toes yesterday and I am pleased as punch! Everyone is really friendly there and the experience is always a pleasure! I love Sheba! 6/1/2003

I have had some hair drama since moving to Chicago, but Sheba has saved me. She is a living doll, and my hair has never looked better! It was worth the two week wait (that girl is popular!), and though it wasn't cheap, i'd say I got my moneys worth. The salon is cute, it even had great art on the walls. I'm glad I found her!! Good salon, a little overrated 5/8/2003

I recently got color and highlights at Sine Qua Non Salon. I was expecting the most amazing salon experience ever based on the reviews on this website. In reality, I found the cut and color to be good, not amazing. I was a little concerned because everyone at the salon was Very alternative, which made me nervous, but it was an ok experience. I love Kimberly Ryan in this salon. She is alway freindly and artistic. She always makes me feel good about myself and she know all different hair textures. I highly recommend requesting Summer at Sine Qua Non. She is extremely talented and cut my coarse curly hair skillfully and stylishly. The salon is cute and friendly and the prices are very reasonable considering her many years of experience. She excels at color but also cuts. You will not regret this appointment!
