Best

I love this restaurant and the neighborhood. Excellent food and you will be treated right by the staff. If you do get a chance to talk with Max you will be delighted.

Worst

We live down the street and have been there numersous times, and never think the price is worth the food. Royal India in Juanita is ten times better.

Very different. Great! 9/7/2010

Very different from the common indian buffet places. Few selections, but quality selections. Way more choices of curries, than just the typical Tikka Masala, and Butter Chicken. Quiet and cozy atmosphere. Try out the Mango Moose! Awesome dessert. Gets quite busy during lunch time with Google campus being around the corner and other companies around the area. more

Excellent Indian / Pakistani Fusion 9/21/2006

Shamiana's is one of those places you love to visit and re-visit. The proprieters and staff are friendly as can be and never once have I had a hurried meal there. I've had to wait almost an hour for friends delayed by work and traffic before and they insisted I be seated instead of waiting in the lobby. They serve a fragrant pullau (rice dish) which is deeply colored by tumeric and flavored by cardamon, topped by crispy, well browned, caramelized shavings of shallot. I enjoy the Pakistani grills and the Biryani is also very flavorful. The Naan is cooked to order, always comes out hot and fluffy and a favorite of mine is the garlic Naan. I dine with a vegetarian friend and he enjoys this restaurant greatly. Vegans will find the menu friendly as well as Shamiana's will state which items are "non-dairy" on their menu and buffet. The owners lived in Pakistan and this is their interpretation of the cuisine. Save a little space for their wonderful Ginger Creme Brullee. Dishes range from $12.95 for Vegetarian to $18.95 for lamb. Not your everyday dinner, but your "nice Restaurant" dining event. more

Fantastic!! 7/18/2006

This restaurant is excellent! Everyone must try the "Major Grey Chicken" at least once, it is to die for! The food is fantastic and reasonably priced. The service is always fast and friendly. There are only two Indian restaurants that I will eat at, and this one is top on that short list. Highly recommended! more

Got to try it... 3/31/2006

I haven't tried Pakistani food either. Closest has been what I would call Pan Asian that covers Indian, Pakistani and it is fun. They are a little more expensive but give Shamiana's a try. Traci is just great. It is family owned, her family lived in that part of the world for a long time and it is a great interpretation. more
