I've been to a number of tobaccanist's in Seattle and elsewhere, but none of them were as large as Piece of Mind. The store is huge, and all four walls have large glass cases filled with blown glass pipes. The staff is very helpful, and the prices are reasonable, with frequent sales. They also sell assorted paraphenalia, clothing and shoes. It's worth the drive even if you don't live near Fremont, for quality glassware or hookahs.

I've been here a few times since all my friends seem to keep going here. I can't understand it. In nice weather when the balcony is open, I like, but apart from that? The dance floor is too oddly shaped to have fun on it, the stairway between it and the bar makes the place smaller than it is, the drinks are expensive, and the pat-down makes me feel like a criminal. And the crowd is definitely more under 25s.

I used to go here almost every week; the waitress knew me and my boyfriend by name. The food and drinks are pretty good, though a bit overpriced. And the desserts are rotating and always amazing.

I don't understand why so many popular acts get booked here. I mean, the parking isn't too bad, since it's at the far end of Pike/Pine, but the venue itself is small and over-sold quite often. And the ventilation is terrible - I've often felt condensation dripping onto me at really crowded acts, making it feel like Florida rain. Plus the seats are nowhere near the stage, which is horrible for smaller shows. I've pretty much resolved to never go here again.

This place is as big as the Texas Cheesecake Depository. It was super crowded when we went, and we had a choice of sitting by a table of squabbling kids, or in front of another table of squabbling kids. Our waitress was just as frazzled as we were, and it seemed to take forever to get our pizza.
But when it finally arrived, all complaints were forgotten. Thin crust, fresh toppings - bliss. Soon the tables behind us cleared, and our waitress was far more congenial. She made excellent gelato suggestions, and that with the espresso made a marvelous dessert.
I'd advise anyone to go after 8pm, though.

Walk in and you're swept away to an era when martini bars and stag parties were hip. Except this isn't a bar that's designed to look futuristic, it's designed to evoke class. And it does, with a timeless feel.
Apparently the bartenders are nationally ranked, and the creativity shows on the house drink menu. Go for happy hour, when they aren't quite as expensive, and be sure to smile at the cute staff.

I didn't think I'd be able to afford a leather sofa, even used, but when I saw the mauve one here for under $400, I knew it would have to be mine. The owners here were great, even delivered it to our apartment for a nominal fee. This is supposed to be a "used" furniture shop, but it feels more like an "antique" one. Except for the prices! Maybe garage sale is the term I want. At any rate, if you need anything that you don't want to fall apart and don't want to spend a bundle, check this place out!

I'm one of those people who gets lost in REI. Second Ascent is a lot smaller but also more affordable. It carries a lot of outdoor equipment both new and used. They have a great sale selection with a big turnover so you have to visit often to see all their stuff. And the sales staff don't bother you while you shop, but if you have any questions they're very knowledgable. Got a nice little shell for skiing here.
