I decided to try this place because it is right down the street from me and because I have heard good things. While the sign says walk-ins are welcome my experiences have led me to doubt that. Scissorhands advertises that it is open until 7 pm Monday-Saturday, but I have now been turned away on THREE separate occasions with more than an hour to spare before closing.
Several months ago I stopped by on a whim after work. It was about 5:45 on a Tuesday. Although there were several stylists and no one waiting, I was told they had no time for me. I figured, okay, maybe the procedures planned would take some time. About a month ago I tried again on a weeknight with the same result. Today (a Saturday) I had some time unexpectedly open up so I went again, only to find them closing at 5:20. The employees were sweeping and cleaning up so it was clear they had been working until recently, but I was told they were ""having some plumbing work done so they were closing early.""
I can't help but wonder if this establishment adheres to its advertised times or walk in policy. I would also love the name of the plumber who comes out on a Saturday night to work on problems that were apparently not severe enough to have prevented a hair cut happening within the past hour. If I choose to try going here again I will make sure to take time off work in the middle of the day and make an appointment far in advance.
