Best

Always get the shrimp pad thai and it never fails to be awesome. Fast service for carry out, and nice decor for dining in. A must visit if you love Thai food.

Worst

I have been to this place over 60 times ever since it has been open. It was good. I don't know what happened, but I think the management is worse. I called in and ordered carry o...

Best Thai in area! 5/30/2005

The Most Authentic Thai food in Triangle 5/5/2005

Go for Sawasdee for authentic Thai cuisine. Now they have great chef specials. My husband likes Pra Ram Long Song with Sawasdee's rich and creamy peanut sauce. It is very tasty. I had Pad Thai Woon Sen. It was very good. Pros: Romantic more

Not only in Raleigh But also in Triangle 5/3/2005

This is the best Thai restaurant not only in Raleigh but also in Triangle. The food is the best compare to other competitors. Need to expand more space and do more marketing. Only Thai food in Sawasdee is the reason I am addicted. I love authentic thing and Sawasdee is only one name in Raleigh for Thai restaurants. Why don't you open in Durham ? i am so far driving to have your ambrosial food from Thai cozy paradise. Pros: Taste, Service Cons: Small more

Best Thai Food in Triangle 4/17/2005

I have moved from West coast to Raleigh for 6 months. I really love Thai food and I have tried lot of Thai restaurants in Raleigh. However, Sawasdee is the best. I hardly understand why lot of Thai and Sushi restaurants in Raleigh. I confirmed that all restaurants with 2 countries could not make any good just one. I will explain my experiences in all I tried, Sawasdee --- Thai food 9/10 Sushi Thai --- Thai food 5/10 , Sushi 6/10 ShabaShabu --- Thai food 6/10 , Sushi 6/10 Taste of Thai --- Thai food 4/10 Thai Villa --- Thai food 7/10 Lavie --- Vietnamese 6/10 , Thai food 5/10 Pros: Best taste around Cons: Small more

Definitely Recommended 4/5/2005

This place is great. Don't let the fact that it is tucked back in a strip mall deter you. My husband and I moved here from Seattle where Thai food is GREAT. We have high standards for Thai dishes and had been disappointed in the prices and quality of some of the other Thai restaurants in the area. The place is small-only about 10 tables, therefore you might have to wait. But it is worth it! If you like Tofu-definitley try the one of the vegatarian tofu dishes. YUM. Great sauce! Enjoy your experience. Pros: great food, good price Cons: Small, possible wait more

Best Thai in the Triangle 3/19/2005

By far the best thai food in the triangle, Sewasdee's tiny but fun space enhances the food experience with walls and tables as deliciously bright and spicy as the food. The portions are large; food is always served with high quality, fragrant jasmine rice (compared to other thai restaurants in the area). From the drunken noodles, to the weekly highlighted curry and main dishes, to the spring rolls and papaya salad appetizers--I have never had a bad dish in all 4 years I've been going. Rounding meals off with thai coffee or tea always sends me home with a smile on my face and a happy fire in my belly. The wait staff is always upbeat and attentive. I have found nothing bad to say about Sewasdee in the past 4 years. If this restaurant tripled in size, even more palates could rejoice. Pros: food, service more

No longer a secret 2/11/2005

Slowly Sawasdee is being discovered. This leads to long waits sometimes but it's always worth it. The menu is small, but they do everything well and offer chefs specials and seasonal dishes that are always tasty. They have Pad Thai for the newbie, and more interesting dishes for the experienced. They only have a few tables so arrive early or be prepared to wait. Pros: Food, Atmosphere Cons: Parking, Few Tables more

Great all around 4/4/2004

One of few best Thai restaurants I've tried, and I've tried many in both Raleigh, Durham and Cary. Waitress were very nice and good service all around. They ran out of a dish, so I can't wait to go back again to try it. Food is decently priced and exceptionally authentic. The soups and appetizers were particulary good, as well as the fish dishes. You would have never guessed the quality of the food and unique ambience from looking at the outside of the store....don't judge the book by its cover, this place is definitely worth trying and going back to :) Pros: Good service, Good selection, Authentic taste more

Wow! 3/23/2004

Everytime I go I swear their food gets better! Flavorful dishes with a perfect balance of flavor and spice are always served quickly and with a smile. The colorful decor and comfortable seating make visting this restaurant a no-brainer. Go! After trying them all, I can honestly say this is the best Thai in the area. Pros: Food, Service, Prices more

Getting better again! 3/14/2004

This was my favorite Thai restaurant in 2001-2002, butthen the quality of ingredients started slipping a bit. On recent visits in fall of 2003 and winter 2004, the food has improved back to it's original dramatic & bold taste. Excellent fresh shrimp spring rolls, Tom Kai soup, fat noodles & chicken, Pad Thai, and a very rich & creamy panang chicken. They have become very good at adjusting the food to your desires. more

nice atmosphere 12/9/2003

The place has a nice decor, though limited seating. The food is flavorful, but many items are cooked with too much oil. Pros: nice atmosphere Cons: oily food more

Great Panang Beef 8/20/2003

The atmosphere here is very cute - small place but decorated in a trendy way. We have been searching for a panang beef comparble to a dish we got in NYC - this is it! more

Best Yes !! !! 3/6/2003

Yes Sawasdee stands alone when it comes to Thai food. That's all they cook and they do the best by far. The remark about McDonalds is funny the only thing in common is popularity, I hope less people go to Sawasdee so I can get a table right away. O by the way what does dog food taste like. I pitty the rstwnr who had to make up those lower ratings. more

Authentic Thai 2/23/2003

There is no cuisine in the world that is more interesting, varied, beautiful, healthful, and delicious than Thai food. And there is no better place in the Triangle for Thai food than Sawasdee. Thai curries and stir fried dishes are bursting with intense flavors that meld and contrast with one another. For those of us who enjoy and are capable of tasting great food through a fiery pepper overlay, Thai provides pure excitement. Those who know real Thai food just can't comfortably settle for cheap substitutes that skimp on the quality and complexity of ingredients. You can find the real thing at Sawasdee Thai. My only regret is that they removed some favorite ""Esan"" (Laotian influenced) items from the menu--e.g. green papaya salad and sticky rice. I'm working on that. But there's plenty more to enjoy, in a cheerfully decorated small-restaurant atmosphere. Aroy mak! Pros: reasonable price, authentic food, delicious food more

PAX 2/23/2003

Great Spicy Thai 2/6/2003

My husband took me here. He loves it and I fell in love with it, too. I had the pad prik dra pow chicken--sauteed chicken in basil-garlic-chili sauce. It was so good and I had enough for a little the next day. My husband always gets the spicy seafood dinner (don't know the name). It is spicy and I like that. We also had the fried spring rolls and those were good. I thought it was a little pricey for Thai, but worth it (Lunch was $25 for two people). Pros: Spicy, Plenty of Food, Good Service Cons: Little Pricey, Hard to Find more

Hard To Find 12/15/2002

My wife & I ate here and it was nice. My taste buds are alive now. Spicy, slite sour & bitter sweet :) Pros: Inexpensive more
