Yum! Nice spice level at 4 stars and, thankfully, the dishes were not as sweet as some Thai places can be. We will order again! (For the record, we had Kao Soi, some eggplant dish...

The Patio is one of my favorite thai places in Seattle. The food is clean and delicious. The food have nice bite to them.. Appetizer khao tang nar tang is a great way to try different thing from another restaurant. They were all very good. more

Love this Thai Restaurant 8/28/2011

Eat here often and am always pleased with the food, service, and price. The curries are excellent and my favorite is the red curry - either duck or pork. Love the deck in the summer although this year has been cold and dreary so have been sitting indoors most of the time. Also like the Fire-walker Eggplant with the purple Asian eggplant. My husband likes the BBQ chicken - a large marinated piece of chicken (not spicy but very good) more

The food is awesome, I love that you can pick your level of spiciness. 4 stars because both times I got it I didn't get a fork/spoon or napkins. more

Good food, delivery was kinda weird since the girl apparently had the wrong address(? We have our address pre loaded in GH so it wasnt on our end) but the food was the most decent thai we've had delivered to us in this area. more

Sub par 11/1/2007

This food is decidedly mediocre. I ordered spring rolls and Red Curry Shrimp. The spring rolls tasted like fried nothing (I had not anticipated that they would be fried) and the primary flavoring of the Red Curry was bell pepper. When I order curry at a Thai restaurant, I want to taste bright, complex flavors like cilantro, kaffir lime leaves, lime zest, fresh chilis and shrimp paste--not just bell peppers with chili powder in watery coconut milk. There was also not enough shrimp in the curry. more

Consistently Good & Take Out Friendly 7/11/2007

I live close by and pick up Tom Yum Noodle soup at least once a week. The food and the service are always the same - very good. Take out orders are packed with the noodles in a separate container so that the soup is perfect when you finally have a chance to sit down and enjoy. Because I can rely on Samui, we entertain more. The evening starts with cold wine from EVS and Thai appetizers. Whether we bother with dinner afterwards or just walk to the park to relax depends on the company. \r \r Pros: Prompt, relaxing service. Kids are made to feel welcome. No one minds if you read. more

Extensive menu, fantastic service - good place to take a date 3/2/2007

Perfect for a nice, quiet evening out. Request to sit by the tropical marine fish aquarium or fireplace! Not your typical thai restaurant atmosphere - more like a cozy bed and breakfast. We thought that this added to the overall experience and will definitely be coming back soon. Good cocktails, extensive wine list and strongly flavored beers. Overall, two thumbs up! Pros: Sizable portions for affordable prices without sacrificing taste. Friendly service. Great atmosphere. Cons: Bit strong on the peanut sauce. more

So Many Thai Restaurants, but this is the Best! 12/2/2006

I love this restaurant. Great for both me and my vegetarian partner, even has choice of brown rice. The menu has Thai standards as well as some dishes not normally found in local Thai restaurants. Yes, the deck is a treat in the summer. Pros: Owner, Great Service, Delicious Food more

Delicious Thai place with outdoor patio 8/31/2006

My husband and I have tried many thai restaurants in Seattle and this is our new favorite! The green curry with tofu was delicious (sweet and creamy with varied vegetables such as eggplant). The spicy tofu dish was also very tasty with a great sauce. \r \r The service was friendly and unlike many Thai places in the city, this one has a fabulous outdoor deck. I recommend enjoying the shady patio with several fountains while the weather is still hot. Pros: Ambience, Friendly service, Good prices more

Good Basic Thai Food 4/29/2005

This is a down to earth family style traditional Thai restaurant. It's not fusion or dumbed down. Seattle has a multitude of Thai restaurants and after having many overly sweet meals we found Samui. Samui's food is traditional Thai. The food is hearty and well balanced flavor wise and lip numbingly spicy if that's what you want. I order things at a 3 (of 4) level spicy when I'm feeling daring and 2 when I'm not and I like hot food. The Tom Yum soup is outstanding, nicely balanced with lime, chili and lemongrass. The pad thai is perfect. The spring rolls have the best skin I've ever had on a roll and the curries are divine. Friendly service... and a nice outdoor deck to sit on and let your kids run around. Pros: Food, Service, Price more

Tasty & friendly 1/14/2005

Having lived in Bangkok for six months, I feel relatively qualified to say that the food is closer to the real deal than you get in most Thai restaurants. And they serve a tasty Sum Tum Thai--spicy green papaya salad that you don't see on Thai menus. It's served with sticky rice, as it should be. The red curry was also delicious and right on. Service was warm and friendly, too, in a great location on Capitol Hill! more
