I have been going to Salon Dewi for a while now,and absolutely love it. From the friendly people to the quick and amazing wax. I have never been happier to go get hair removal! I recently went to see Travis for my regular wax and he told me I needed a little something extra..A bikini BLAST he told me, at first I was sceptical. "This is like a facial for your toot toot" he told me. How could I turn that down. During the winter months when you need a little exfoliatong why would you ignore down there? Behold: The Waxing Diva Has Arrived! 12/14/2007

Well, if Salon Dewi is recommended by The New York Times, it just *has* to be good, right? Salon Dewi is so much more than "good." The salon is quaint, welcoming, and serene. The entire space is carefully decorated and in the bathrooms, you get actual towels for your hands (not paper towels!). I've had my fair share of Brazilian waxes from a couple local big named salons so I had an idea of what was good and not good. Travis, dubbed the Waxing Diva, is PERFECT! By far, he orchestrates the best and most thorough Brazilian wax out there while making you feel absolutely comfortable. This was the first time I ever met Travis and not once did I feel like a "client." Although there are closer salons that offer mediocre Brazilian waxes, I will be going out of my way and into downtown Seattle to get my monthly dose of the Waxing Diva. Alicia is amazing!! 12/13/2007

I ve had such bad experiences with estheticians in the past. Alicia is the best Ive ever met. She is very knowledgeable about skincare and the specific needs of MY skin. She customizes her facials and has the most amazing touch. She also takes care of ALL my waxing including Brazilian. She is FAST and efficiant and always has a hilarious story to tell. I feel so comfortable when I am in her care. I highly recommend her and advise you to book asap.. she is a busy girl. more

Marie will make you feel right at home with her waxing style! Short & sweet! It's over before you know it! I make sure to go in there before a big date or event and she always makes my eyebrows look so fabulous! more

Dewi needs some new wax! 11/30/2007

Nice people, unsatisfactory service. Twice went in for a bikini wax and left both times feeling less than smooth.\r Patches of hair left. Attention to detail was bad! And it costs 65$ not including tip. more

Great Massage! 11/26/2007

I have received a handful of massages from various therapists, mainly on business trips and vacations. I was recently massaged by Matthew at Salon Dewi, on Capitol Hill. His unique style and approach worked very well for me. He has nice pressure and was good about checking in with me throughout the massage, which was reassuring. The best thing about the whole experience is that my right hand doesn?t go numb like it used to. I also recommend using their sauna before hand, it was great! more

Disappointment!!! 10/8/2007

I have gone to Salon Dewi a handful of times and always had a nice experience, until this last time. I went in for a massage, which went ok for the first hour. When I was asked if I wanted my abs rubbed, I said sure. I've had my abs rubbed maybe a dozen times before by a dozen different massage therapists, but NEVER had any of them just pulled back the blanket leaving me and my breasts exposed. EVERY other massage therapist I have gone to has always taken great care in keeping certain parts of the body covered up. I covered myself up, which seemed to surprise him. I spent the next twenty minutes wondering why I wasn't getting up to leave. I was in total shock. So unprofessional!!! and what a disappointment, I really liked going to Salon Dewi, but now I will never go there again. more

Do you want a piece of heaven? 9/23/2007

Stop looking. No, I mean it stop looking! This is the spa you want. My husband was searching just like you are doing now for the best spa to pamper me for my 40th birthday. He wanted a place that when I was done I couldn't even think straight. As soon as I walked through the front door every person I met was helpful and kind. Usually in spa's they are kind in a phony kind of way, you know the yes I will be kind to you because I am going to charge you a lot of money. Salon Dewi isn't like any other salon I have experienced or have heard about. Pros: Parking is easy, staff is amazing, atmosphere is beautiful and tasteful Cons: I couldn't find any! more

Marie is the best Aesthetician/Waxing Specialist in Seattle! 9/5/2007

I've found my aesthetician for life! She's always on time and super friendly. I get my brows and brazilian done once a month with her and she rocks! My brows have never been this defined and well groomed. Always taking the time to look at my new haircut or style, Marie takes the time to make sure my brows correct. I also love that I get both services done in about 30 to 45 minutes, without feeling rushed. We have such a great conversation that my brazilian is over in no time. (It's probably her technique also.) I just splurged and had an hour facial with her and it was the most in depth, pampering treatment ever. I left feeling relaxed and fresh. She really impressed me with her knowledge of skincare. Her advice was accurate and she sold me exactly what I needed without being pushy. All in all, I love Marie and Salon Dewi. You're the best, see you in 3 weeks! Pros: Highly skilled and friendly. Marie is the best I've ever found. Cons: I haven't found anything yet. more

Alicia and Waxing Diva Travis Powell are the best in the business. Who else can make you laugh under ?Brazilian? circumstances, like Salon Dewi. Every time I go in I spend way too much money on the cute lingerie and men?s briefs. Pros: Parking, Comfortable, and of course The Diva! more

Alicia is my waxing guru! 5/16/2007

First, Dewi is a great salon--very laid-back, relaxed atmosphere. No sales pressure, no chichi staff. The spa also carries a cute selection of lingerie (including Hanky Panky thongs!) and great skin products and makeup. Second, I keep going back for Alicia. I've had Brazilians in 3 states, and she is by far the best. She also touches up my brows on occasion, but her Brazilian is fast and relatively pain-free. Plus, she's fun to talk to. I'd recommend Salon Dewi--especially Alicia--to anyone. more

Best place for men's waxing. Period! 5/13/2007

I would never go anywere else for waxing services. Travis, Alicia and company rock! If you feel like trying a male brizilian or even more basic waxing I would definitely recommend these guys. They know what they're doing. One more note about the brazilian: It's not as bad as you think, with these guys behind the wheel. That being said, have a drink first! more

First of all I want to say how much I love the Diva he is a honest hard working person. I am not sure where the bad reviews came from but I am sure it was probably someone trying to be like the Diva.. Maybe you should pay more attention to your clients and less attention to your competion.. I would recommend Salon Dewi to anyone interested in having a relaxing afternoon. The best way to spend a birthday afternoon... 4/7/2007

I spent yesterday afternoon at Salon Dewi. It was my birthday and I decided to give myself a treat. It was heaven! I've been to a lot of spas and Travis' crew really stands out. They're really good at what they do and the treatments don't break the bank. I started off with a sugar/salt scrub and massage with Bobi which was fantastic and then moved on to a facial and pedi with Eri. I came out feeling ten years younger and glowing. It was awesome... Great Place! 2/24/2007

I just went there today for my first ever brow wax. I was alittle nervous seeings how I've never had my brows waxed and I didn't want to much taken off. When I walked in I was immediately greated by Travis who offered me something to drink and asked me how my day was. Everyone there was extremely friendly and I was completely happy with Alicia who did my brows. They looked awesome and I will definitely be going back to get them done again! Worst manicure ever! 2/5/2007

I was looking forward to nice pampering at Salon Dewi. They charge $30 for a normal manicure and an extra $10 for french polish. Everything about the manicure was horible. The girl didn't even really do the cuticles at all and she started painting french on and i had to stop her because it was looking so bad. The polish looks really old and crusty and started chipping just a day after. I'll never get a manicure here again. more
