Rocking M Stables is absolutely the greatest barn experience I've ever had in my 25 years of owning horses. Over the past 25 years I've boarded my horses at 6 different facilities in Texas and Louisiana...from major city equestrian facilities to the smaller privately owned stables....Rocking M is above and beyond the best.
The barn owner Mike Mayes is extremely kind and accomodating to your horses' needs...Yvonne Kusserow, the manager and dressage trainer is equally dedicated and knowledgable (she has just completed the German Equestrian Master Certification). The barn workers are friendly, bi-lingual and truly tuned in to your horse...they don't just clean stalls and scoop feed...they take care to check your horse...see if he's as he should be...and if he's not...you know about it immediately.
This is the type of facility you can leave your horse at for a vacation and not have to worry whether or not he is getting his supplements, blanketed, fresh water...or if he gets hurt or sick...will they notice....Rocking M is exceptional in this regard.
Beyond the amazing caretakers...the boarders are positively lovely. I've never been at a barn that didn't have ""drama""...but drama is non-existent at RM. There are close to 40 boarders--from the $100K horse owners to the backyard pet owners...there are all levels of riders and owners...and it is truly harmonious here. The everso common (and tiresome) competive rivalry, back-biting, snarky folks that plague so many barns is not present here...it is a friendly, courteous, family-feel environment that is beyond refreshing.
Great people, fantastic care....Rocking M is doing everything right...I am so happy I found this place!
