When I lived in Washington, going to Red Robin was a regular occurrence because they were conveniently located. Since we have moved, we don't get there nearly as often as we'd like to and it's always a special treat when we do.
If you're not familiar with "Red Robin" it's similar to other sit down restaurants such as Chili's. Their menu focuses on "gourmet burgers" and they offer 22 different kinds, so there are plenty to choose from. There are plenty of other favorites, as well, including pasta dishes and tasty salads. If you're going for a burger, my favorite is the "Sauteed 'Shroom Burger" which is a swiss-mushroom burger. My husband loves the "Whiskey River BBQ burger" (which includes BBQ sauce, cheese and "onion straws") and the "5 Alarm Burger" (which includes pepper-jack cheese, jalapenos, salsa, and chipotle mayo- definitely not for the faint hearted!). Another "favorite" for me is the Teriyaki Chicken burger which includes teriyaki sauce, swiss cheese, and pineapple slices. Another thing they are known for is their fries (as well as their "signature" seasoning salt) and when you order a meal with fries, your fries are "bottomless." If you are health conscious, you can ask for fruit instead of fries and cut the fat and calories!
If you're in the mood for an appetizer, we've tried the creamy artichoke and spinach dip and the cheeseburger con queso. Both are very good. The baked potato soup is also very good! They have a large drink menu (beer, margaritas, and mixed drinks). I'm not much of a drinker, but I do love their strawberry lemonade. All of their soft drinks, lemonades, and iced tea dirnks are "bottomless." The kid's menu includes plenty of options and they are all pretty "standard" (pizza, hamburgers, hot dogs, macaroni and cheese, grilled cheese sandwich, etc.). They also offer dessert. I usually don't have room for dessert, but have had it a few times when we have gone just for dessert. I definitely recommend the Hot Apple Crisp.
We have never had a bad experience at Red Robin We have been to this location a few times. It is in the Westchase district and gets pretty busy during lunchtime. They make an effort to seat you quickly, though, and we've never had to wait very long. Yesterday we had a part of six and were seated within five minutes. Our waitress was excellent and was constantly checking up on us, bringing us "extras" (sauces, napkins, etc.), and our drink glasses never went below half full. They are a little bit expensive (about $8.50 for a burger or chicken sandwich), but these prices are comparable with similar themed restaurants. The portions are generous and the burgers all come with the bottomless fries.
If you haven't tried Red Robin, you are missing out!
