I went to R&M last week after seeing the ad in the greensheet for 299 down I called and talked to a woman who wasn't even there when I got there and the salesman acted like he didnt even know who I was talking about when I gave him her name that shouldve been a sign for me to leave right there he took me to the side with the oldest used cars available he told me I would have to put down 1500 for a 2002 Monte Carlo with 124,000 miles on it!!! I was skeptical but I really needed a car so I gave him 400 dollars just to hold the car for me when I came back later that day after talking with someone else and reading reviews I decided not to buy the car he told me I would have to wait 72 hrs to get my own money back because they couldn't open the safe Do you believe that!!!! This was last friday I called them today and the guy who filed my refund information wasn't even there and they kept putting me on hold and transferring me and then told me to call back tomorrow!!!! I called the other R&M location and talked to someone in accounting she was rude and told me that she can't give a refund unless they give her my refund request!!! I don't even have the car never drove it off the lot and I'm still out of 400 dollars!!! I'm still working on trying to get my money they don't know who they're f***ing with Please don't go there!!! You might get a car and not have any problems but its a big Gamble Don't Do It Cons: they give you the run around!!!! more

Company May Be Crumbling 1/20/2010

I purchased a car from R & M Stop back in '05 with this company with a whole different crew of workers and he was great. The car runs great, I've only needed a water pump and fuel pump in the last 5 years. I have driven well over 120,000 miles on this car and have almost 185K miles on my '02. Listen folks...Here's the reality of this company...some people like them cause yeah we do put people in vehicles that cant buy anywhere else....drawback...you go through so many headaches with it not to mention most the vehicles are wrecked. Also just because you are contracted and put in a vehicle does not mean its final...they can back out the deal...take the car back and keep your down payment...thats why they advertise 299 down...if they put 20 people in vehicles then take it back the next day thats a lot of money they keep from you customers. Before you buy a vehicle just do your education and know that if peck in the dirt with the chickens you will get burned. First I would like to say thank you to all of the people that wrote reviews to expose this business for what it is. Second I would like to address the ""Salesperson"" who responded to all the wonderful people who where taken advantage of by this business, you just proved what type of business you are running by coming on here and responding negitively to all the consumers on this page. I am in the market of buying a car new or used, and read the reviews, at a certain point I was willing to overlook the responses, but when I got to your comment...it floored me! How dare you take it upon yourself to talk bad about anyone on this thread, and you are supposed to be representing your company?? I CALLED RM AUTO ON WEDNESDAY 11/12/2008 AND SPOKE WITH LIZ. SHE TOOK MY HUSBANDS INFORMATION AND TOLD ME SHE WOULD CALL ME BACK. SHE CALLS BACK IN ABOUT AN HOUR AND TELLS ME THAT WE ARE APPROVED. I ASKED HER SEVERAL TIMES WERE WE APPROVED OR PRE-APPROVED. SHE ASSURED ME THAT WE WERE APPROVED. I CALLED HER 5 MORE TIMES AFTER THAT AND SHE TOLD ME TO JUST BRING 299.00 AND GET THE INSURANCE AND WE WERE GOOD TO GO. WHEN MY HUSBAND AND I GET THERE SHE IS NOT THERE. SHE TOLD SOMEONE ELSE TO HELP US. I HAD JUST CALLED HER 45 MINS BEFORE AND TOLD HER THAT WE WERE ON OUR WAY. THE SALES GUY THAT HELPED US ASKED FOR ALL OF OUR INFORMATION AGAIN AND THEN COMES BACK AND SAID THAT WE NEEDED A CO-SIGNER. I WAS SO MAD I ASKED FOR THE MANAGER AND HE IS SO RUDE. AVOID 6/20/2008

My cousin whom is very independent, very determined to achieve goals on her own. This would be a chance for her to buy her first car on her own. She found a job worked hard and sacrificed, saved every paycheck so that she can have a large down payment. She phoned in to R& M and they told her she was pre approved, to come in with her dp and proof of resident, and chk stubbs. She was soooo excited!!! When she got there the first thing they ask about was how much money, very proudly she told them the amount. Then at the end of the day they told her she needed a co signer. How let down she was. About 6 mos ago I bought a 2007 pt cruiser with only 6,000 miles from R&M Auto. It took them 3 mos to give me my plates! 2 weeks ago my car dies and it turns out the entire engine needs to be replaced! No accidents appeared on the carfax report i did - apparently the car was fixed on the side w/o reporting it to insurance. Now Chrysler will not honor the factory warranty because of an after market radiator put in the car by R&M Auto. The manager RAYMOND POPE will not take my calls and i've had to hire a lawyer. BEWARE OF THIS PLACE 5/1/2008

This place is classic bait and switch. I wished I had read these reviews before wasting time going to this place. R&M had the ideal SUV we were looking for. We have good credit. I completed the information online, received a call from the internet mgr stating that we had been approved for 0 down/0% for 60 months. She said all we needed to do was come in pick out a car we liked, show proof of insurance (along with some other normal stuff), sign paperwork and go! Great. Pros: Nothing Cons: Everything!!!!! more

This place is a ripoff. Make sure that you have the deal before you drive off with the car. Because if you don't they will take your money.
