Great Place for Dads and Kids 11/30/2009

My dad took me here along with his dad (my grandpa). They had a great time talking about the cars and remembering 'when' while I had fun photographing them (the cars). It was lots of fun and I learned a lot without it being Educational. Pros: interesting, fun Cons: hard to leave more

Worth The Coupon Price 6/21/2003

My family and I went primarily for the Hot Wheels Exhibit but the other exhibits were nice too. I'm not sure I would've been satisified with our visit though if we had paid full price. We had a coupon for one adult admission free with purchase and since all three of our children are under the age of 5 we ended up only having to pay $10. We're not BIG ""car people"" but it was a good value for 10 bucks. Pros: Hot Wheel Exhibit, Discovery Center, Walk through= 1.5 hrs Cons: pricey if you pay reg more

In this city, this museum is perfect! 8/24/2002

Angelenos have long been married to their cars. Before I moved here, I laughed at ""L.A. Story,"" now I nod solemnly as I watch it. The Petersen Auto Museum is right at home in Los Angeles, offering a wonderful look at the vehicles of yesteryear, including L.A.'s famous Red Car trolley service. Schedule a full day to see all the exhibits and ogle the beautifully restored vehicles kept here. It's a great trip for the whole family, or present for an automotive buff. more

Fun Facts and Interesting History 5/21/2002

This is the place to spend a Sunday afternoon. Meandering around this museum gets you interesting historic facts on America's early automotive days. For those who are star struck, the Peterson also houses famous cars from television and movies. Those of us who love fast cars and kustom cars, this is also the place to go. Bring the kids too! There are tons of interactive things for them to learn from and a pretty nifty gift shop. Pros: Location, Kustom Cars, Historic & Fun Facts Cons: Parking more

Cars are cars all over the world 5/20/2002

A tribute to engineering, art, commerce and popular culture, the Petersen Automotive Museum comprises an amazing collection of cars and automotive design. The cars that expanded and accelerated America: Model Ts, little Deuce Coupes and family station wagons. And these are the cars that imagined the future--streamlined Jetsonian vehicles that look like rocket-refrigerators. A fascinating depiction of the last century and this one as expressed through our four-door exoskeletons. more
