This was my first facial at Norris, and it seemed to me that Vilma's facial room, and facials all together, were something of an after thought for Norris. Vilma walked me through the hair and nail salon to a large closet in the back corner that was stuffed with facial and waxing supplies - there was very little room to move around. There was music playing, and a generic lit candle, but if the steam machine was off and Vilma wasn't shuffling around (in heels on a tile/wood floor) or bumping into things, you could hear all the gossip going on in the salon. Definitely not relaxing. This was a strictly procedural facial - it was effective at cleaning my skin, I think, but it certainly was no treat. Vilma gives a horrible arm and hand massage, and her face, neck, and shoulder massage weren't much better - fast and furious! Then she massages your scalp, without first wiping off all the massage lotion, so your hair gets really funky and greasy. This was a $50 facial, at most - certainly not worth the $90 they charge. If Norris wants to be a luxury day spa, they need to step things up, a lot. I used a Groupon and was treated fairly, but I certainly don't feel as though they tried to impress me or earn my loyalty. I won't be returning.
In response to jeweljewel's comment of my review: My review was based on my facial experience with Vilma at Norris that day. That day she wore loud heels and gave me a rough massage. And the massage room was very small in the back corner of the salon where I could not help but hear all of the salon gossip. On the other issue... No, I do not get up and walk away from a service, or a meal, if I'm not happy in the middle of it, knowing things could improve at any minute. I was not in pain or being treated badly, and I had already paid for the facial. This review is to share MY experience with interested CitySearch viewers so they know what they might get should they choose Norris for getting a facial.
Pros: Feels clean
Cons: Rough, felt rushed, not at all relaxing
