My Friend's Place

I have not shopped at My Friends Place, but got on line to check it out. Low and behold, this forum was the first to pop up. Nuff said, after reading about the completly digusting service (especially in today's world), I won't even go to see what I'm missing. I only hope this "absentee owner" gets wind of what is being posted. Hopefully others will take the time to post a review. Everyone's negative remarks is why I will not contribute to there success. more

I found a cute dress (on wicked mark down, no less), but the what everyone else says holds true--the service is AWFUL. No greeting when I walked in and when I went to check out had to wait for her to get off what was clearly a personal call. Quite frankly, I felt like I was putting her out by wanting to buy something. With unemployment at a high and places closing right and left, you'd think they'd want to do better, but it seems not. I have been in My Friend's Place several times and have noticed that the customer service is just bad. They don't even greet you when you walk in the door. I am a shopper who doesn't like to be bombarded by sales people, but would appreciate an offer for a dressing room. The last time I went in there were two girls working and I was the only customer in the store. Not only did they not acknowledge my presence, but I stood rite in front of them waiting to check out before they noticed I was ready to check out. I bought something, but left mad at myself for buying from such a rude staff. There is no excuse for that. That will be the last time I ever shop there. It is a shame they have such cute clothes. The merchandise is tacky and the service is nonexistent. A garment I bought there fell apart, and when I contacted the store by telephone to politely enquire about either a return or a store credit, the owner got on the line and yelled at me. The clientele seemed very white trash. more

I absolutely love this store! The selection, quality, and customer service are exemplatory. I initially went to the store to find a top that matched a specific pair of pants...not only did I find a trendy, ultra-cute top thanks to the sales associate, I found other really unique reasonably-priced items that I cannot find anywhere else in Nashville! I have been in Nashville for 1 year, i have searched high and low for a place like my friends place, the clothes are to die for, it is in an exclent location, and the service was unbelieveable. The employees were so helpful that i gave then a hug before i left, they helped me pick an outfit that was flatering and made me feel good about myslef! As a male shopping for my wife, the management of this dump helped me decide to shop at the mall. Matter of fact, I am going to invest my personal money to open a similar shop with the same products with GOOD service and management. Cons: management more

I went in today to ask about a silk shirt I'd purchased in April that my dry cleaner would not clean because it would ruin the fabric. When I asked about the cleaning instructions (which said "Dry Clean Only") I was told that they had had similar problems with these items and that I could "wear it dirty"! I was so shocked, that I called them back once I found my receipt. I was told again that there was nothing they could do, but they were sorry that I was "so unhappy" that I bought a shirt that I could not clean. They had a "strict policy" and she would be "fired" (I guess by the "absentee owner") if she returned anything after the 14 days. My advice: take your item to the dry cleaner immediately, or just don't shop there in the first place! more

This store is one of the best boutiques I've been to in Nashville. The selection is huge and the customer service was incredible. The employees were really helpful and were eager to help me find the perfect clothes. Like every other retail store, I was disappointed that I they couldn't take items out of the front windows, but they took my name down for a shirt and called me right when it was changed! Overall, this store is awesome. I shop there all the time and highly recommend it to everyone. more

I went in this shop for the first time today, and had the most delightful experience, I was shocked to read the other reviews. The girls were so nice and when i asked about the "final sale" they said it is only for sale merchandise. They said they would be more than happy to give me a full refund for anything i wasn't pleased with, with in 2 weeks! They were so helpful and made my experience a delight!!! I HIGHLY RECOMEND it! Yes the inventory is gorgeous. The sales people occasionally look up from their personal conversation to assist. But beware the dreaded "final sale" stamp on the receipt: if you buy something from this store that falls apart the first time you put it on, tough luck. The "absentee owner" apparently does not care about customer service. I will not ever shop in this store again and I do not advise anyone else to shop there either. Nashville has too many other fine clothing establishments with decent customer service, so don't waste your time. more

I have never been so gut-wrenchingly offended by salespeople in my life. The clothes are gorgeous. If only pretty is equaled pretty does at this place. more
