Museums are good 7/26/2002

o.k. i'm not much for the catchy title. But the museum district is a treasure of houston everyone should see. Firstly the Architecture the Menil Colection is perhaps the greatest work of Renzo Piano one of the most influential architects of are times, he also did the Cy Twomby Gallery next door. The Bissonet/Montrose face of the MFAH is the only curved facade designed by Mies Van der rohe (one of the fouder's of modern architecture) which was ever built. The Byzantine Frescoe chapel, the Contemporary Arts Museum & the Holocaust museum are also worth the trip for their architecture alone and i running out of space to say any thing about the Rothko Chapel, Noguchi Garden, and the MFAH's new wing. Not to metion natural sciences and so on. Oh yeah, beside the architecture thay have Art and Stuff Inside. Pros: Architecture, Variety in area Cons: MFAH ain't the Met more
