Absolutely horrid. I ordered at 1:20am. The pizza got here at 3:00am. I was told that the delivery fee is 12$. And since I paid the card I couldn't refuse. The driver called me an...

Woman taking orders on 8/30/07 could learn a thing or two about customer service 8/30/2007

""Maria"" took 15 minutes to take our order and still did not deliver an hour later. When I called back, she said we would have to place the order again. I asked to talk the manager, but she said he was not available. I asked for his name and she hung up on me. The pizzas are great when we get them, but Maria could learn a thing or two about customer service. Pros: good pizza Cons: bad service more

i miss damianos!!! 4/14/2007

i left LA years ago (my 1bdrm on sweetzer was $650) and still miss Damianos!!! so good. you have to try this place. more

A good Night IN 3/20/2007

You dont want to be in a rush to eat if ordering delivery.... When you call 80 percent of the time expect to be put on hold, no matter what time of the day! And, delivery is generally at least 45 mins.... But !!! it is WORTH WAITING FOR!... 90 percent of the time the pizza is authentic and great tasting - worth the price even though it is a little more then you would expect to pay! finally... they deliver alcohol, cigarettes, and deserts too - You can't beat that! more

The place for vegan pizza in L.A. 2/25/2007

For some reason the menu here doesn't anywhere tell you that you can order soy cheese and veggie ""pepperoni"" even though it is available. The cheese is vegan (there's no casein in it), as is the pepperoni, so if you just tell the server you want the vegan pizza with the veggie pepperoni they'll know. I don't know anywhere else in L.A. that makes vegan pizzas (there is a place on Hollywood Blvd I've heard of, but it is closed for renovation right now). I've been coming here every week since I discovered this place, and always am able to get seated at a table immediately, and you maybe wait about 20 minutes for your pizza. But I have only been during the week, and at about 9:00 at night, so I don't know what its like during weekends or during the normal dinner hours. It's a dive yeah, but it's also really cheap, and where else are you going to get vegan pizza anyways! This spot is definitely a must for any vegan in L.A. Pros: vegan cheese and pepparoni!, $2 parking accross directly the street at the Canter's parking lot Cons: could be a wait for the food, but well worth it more

good pizza if youre drunk 2/12/2007

Not even close to being a good ny pizza place. I would only go here after a late night at the bars. Pros: open late Cons: not great more

It's the place for pizza, and that's it. 2/6/2007

OK, so a lot of the reviews are saying the service is awful, the appetizers are bad, the soy cheese is gross... and they're right. The people that work there are all slackers who hate the fact that they are working but have to pay rent. The owners put other stuff on the menu to appease the people who don't eat pizza. However, this place is the real deal. Who cares about all the other stuff? Its the best NY pizza in LA. And thats it. Leave your pretentiousness at the door, and enjoy a slice. Pros: pizza, character, hours Cons: parking more

Almost All-night Pizza Joint 12/30/2006

Well, I went on a friday night afer 2am. When i went there i ordered a pizza with vegan cheese, basil, tomato and garlic. The dough of the pizza was pretty goood but the vegan cheese was not bad but not good. i wouldn't get the vegan cheese again. I would probably stick with regular cheese. The place was pretty cool on a friday night after two there were like 10 people in there and as some were leaving they commented on how they really liked the place and are regulars. The only thing that threw me off about the place was that it was so dark in the back where all the booths are. I don't know if they keep teh lights off to save energy because they run almost all night long but they had one small votive candle on each table that was barely enough to light the menu to read it. But on the other hand i could see ifu had a hang over the bright lights might be painful. But we just grabbed more candels. All in all i will be going back and bringing more friends. Good pizza and a nice place to chill and talk with good people more

YUM! 12/1/2006

Three words: Best. Pizza. Ever. Pros: Perfect thin crust, good service more

Burnt Pizza; Refused to Make Me Another One 11/29/2006

I ordered a slice of pizza and they gave it to me with the crust burnt. I asked for another one and they weren't having it. So I walked out. Cons: Burnt Pizza; Lame Service; Too Dark Inside more

Damiano's Pizza: MEDIOCRE PIZZA at HIGH PRICES! 8/26/2006

This place is a JOKE! They charge you $3.50 to deliver a pizza to you even if you live just DOWN THE STREET! I'm not kidding. Gas is NOT that expensive, Guys. Pros: Nothing Cons: Place is a dump, charge you exhorbitant amount for delivery, ridiculously small portions more

Amazing...when Drunk 8/19/2006

It is the best pizza in LA after 2am, because coincidentally it is the only place still serving after 2 and of course anything when you're drunk tastes amazing, the wait is painful but as long as you've had many cocktails you'll be happy, but please save yourself the trip when you're actually craving a good pizza soooooo not worth it! Pros: open after the bars close Cons: food ok, wait loooong, pricey for what you get more

Awesome authentic NY Pizza is worth a lot, even a headache. 6/23/2006

Damiano pizza is like most reviewers say: the best NY pizza in LA BUT a lot of good things in this world arrive at a steep price. The prices are a little exhorbitant, the wait is nearly unbearable and make sure you don't order during a low-bloodsugar attack because you will keel. Also, the manager is not very nice-- I saw him ordering around his delivery people like he was the dictator of a 3rd world country, it was a little infuriating, but I stayed and waited 20 minutes, for a slice of NY style cheese pizza anyways (I hope that doesn't make me a bad person...). I also have never wanted to eat inside the restaurant, as it is dark and loud and a little scary (I usually order it to go and sit on a curb in a peace). Yes, this is a guilty, dirty pleasure and they do have an excellent beverage assortment and the cannoli isn't bad either. more

NEEDS NEW MANAGEMENT 5/22/2006

I loved this place - been going for years. Recently they got a crappy transistor-like radio with ancillary speakers...AND THEY BLAST JACK FM. The station is OK, but who wanst to sit and eat with 5 MINUTES OF BLARING COMMERCIALS EVERY 20 MINUTES. I am not exaggerating - I could barely hear the waitress - and she was rude and couldn't care less about repeated requests to turn the music/commercials down. And both times it was around 6 and there was only one other table - it wans't 9PM with a full house. Now it is intolerable. And they serve cocktail sauce with calamari (& try to charge extra if you request marinara instead) I am done....until Jack is gone. Pros: good NY pizza Cons: blaring crappy radio, mean waitresses more

Honest Review 2/9/2006

Ok. Here's the thing. The pizza is delicious. The best I've had so far on the West Coast. However, they are SLOW. We went in, sat down and waited 10 minutes for a waitress to come. There were about 4 other occupied tables. One in particular was complaining about waiting over an hour for one pizza. ONE. Our waitress told us it would be at least 40 minutes for a pizza. We took slices and waited 30. But they were yummy. And cheap. With great beverage choices. If you've got time and patience, check it out. Pros: Taste, Cheap Cons: Slow Service more

best pizza in la! 5/12/2005

damiano's is the best pizza in la delivery until 4 or 5am i believe too! more

Overpriced, Go elsewhere 10/19/2004

We live around the corner from this place and ordered Pizza to be delivered. When the order arrived, a small pizza with one topping, I was told it was $22.00. This was before tip. Basically it cost me $24.00 for a tiny pizza, that didn't taste very good at all. There are a bunch of better pizza places in the area, for a much better price. Cons: , Lack of Flavor, Delivery was slow more

Simply the best NY Pizza 10/15/2004

Pizza places are about the pizza, not the toppings or other side issues. Damianos has the most authentic NY thin crust pizza in LA, period. It has a flavorful sauce, good quality cheese and high quality crust. Nothing else matters more

Not worth it 6/4/2004

We got this delivered, and only live 2 blocks away. The pizza arrived cold. Not much sauce, and the sauce is an important factor when it comes to pizza. I have WAY better than Damiano. Try Raffalo's thin crust or even Brick Dome Pizza. Cons: , Arrived cold more

Great Pizza 6/5/2003

This is a great place for thin pizza with a myriad of toppings (garlic is my fave). Food is MUCH better eaten in than takeout. Great beer selection. It is really dark but your eyes adjust. Some comfortable booths. Service is generally good but can get sketchy when its busy depending on the how many people they have working. Overall a great place to eat and one I frequent a lot since its right around the corner from my apartment! Pros: Inexspensive, Big Portions Cons: Dark more

you grow old waiting here!! 12/22/2002

aweful service I often eat alone and when I went in one time my waitres took my order and I didn't see it until almost an hour and a half later and yet my food was served cold. Pros: a place to waste time Cons: lots, do u have an hr more
