Mit Coop convenient location Kendall MIT. 7/26/2009

The Mit Coop is convenient to the T Kendall square MIT. It's ok. Don't go there in the fall. September month is way too busy with all the students from all over the country and all over the world that come to Boston to study. A lot oftt hem go to good schools like. Well you know MIT, Harvard, BU, Northeastern and others. The staff will be too busy to pay attention to you. I went there one day to get a textbook and I was shocked to find out they did not have it. It was not even a MIT book or a very difficult book to get. I was disappointed. Truereview here to tell you the truth. more

Books and Basic Techie Gear 5/21/2006

This Coop is just a bit more technologically oriented than its Harvard sibling, but what do you want, it’s MIT. I found fussy little travel containers for my (yes) floppy discs as well as slender CD holders. Practical goods are downstairs while the classic selection of Coop books are on the ground floor – also student needs like granola bars, soda, and Advil. more

I used to work nearby so I would come here often to browse books during my lunch break. I was impressed by the selection of “regular” books and how easy it was to find the ones I was looking for. I frequently bought books here and found them to be priced about average. more

MIT Coop Bookstore 3/20/2006

This bookstore is not bad. There are a lot of gift items for families. The book selection is not very large in terms of fiction books, etc. The textbook section is good, though. The Harvard Coop bookstore is much larger and has many more sections and variety. I liked the selection of journals and gifts. There are a lot of gift items downstairs. They have "on sale" items down there next to the card selection. It is right next to the T stop. more

Expensive! 11/30/2005

This place, not unlike most college supply stores, is so overpriced. They have a great selection of souvenirs and logo apparel, as well as text books for current students. The staff is kind of impersonal, but that's not unusual for a college book store. If you can find a different (and cheaper!) place to get these things, by all means, avoid this place. more

Great Bookstore Very Conveniently Located in Kendall Square 10/15/2005

The MIT Coop is a great bookstore, although it is a bit expensive. On the main floor, they sell all kinds of books, snacks and MIT apparel and memorabelia. Downstairs, they sell stationary and other paper goods. The location of the store is great - they have lots of windows, so if you are waiting for a bus, you can browse some of the books while you are waiting and keep and eye on the bus stop! It is also attached to the Kendall Square food court and right next to the T stop. It is worth a visit, especially if you are in the area! Enjoy! more

Pricey, but the only place you'll find some goods 8/17/2005

All the gift-shop things here have MIT logos; it's that kind of a store. This can be really cute, even though the merchandise could clearly have any name in place of MIT (the "somebody at MIT loves me" bears and "MIT Mom" T-shirts come to mind). The cleverest things are the ones that are sort of engineering-school tailored, like the T-shirts with Maxwell's laws or "cutie [pi]". Other standard gifts are as expected - shot glasses, mugs, pants. School supplies can be had here at a markup that's only slightly painful. Don't buy textbooks unless you're desperate; it's a terrible ripoff. Coop membership is open to most MIT affiliated people and offers a minor discount (a few percent of your purchases is returned at the end of the year). Go here when you need to buy something to prove you were at MIT. This store has the kind of merchandise you can't find at an airport, and plenty more. more
