I read the review from Karla s. and found this shop. She was right the name of the business has changed to "Midtown Auto Service". What she didn't mention is their phone number which is 713-523-2886. They were convently located between D-town & the Med Center which was great, because it is close to my work. This shop did an excellant job fixing my Toyota Camry with my check engine light on. more

Really Good Service. For Real. 6/1/2007

The owner, Mikey is pleasent to deal with. He's been fixing my mom and dad cars for years and now my own. He's is fair and honest:; which I don't see in very many auto mechanic shops. I was in Austin for 4 years, and yes I had some situations that I needed a mechanic shop. Now that I have a family of my own I will only trust my car to Mikey. He won Best Auto Repair shop 2006 in the Houston Chronicle. more

THE BEST 4/24/2007

I CAME WAY OVER FROM THE NORTH SIDE TO GET TO MID TOWN AND THEY WERE GOT TO THE PROBLEM I HAD WITH MY CAR IN NO TIME THEY FIX IT AND I HAVENT HAD ANY MORE PROBLEMS I RECOMMENED THIS SHOP TO WHOM EVER NEEDS REPAIRS THAT YOU CAN NOT PUT YOUR FINGER ON THEY WILL FIND IT AND FIX THE PROBLEM AND AT A VERY AFFORADABLE PRICE.I LUV THAT SHOP. more

Best Auto Repair Center in Houston 3/9/2007

"" A "" FOR EFFORT 1/25/2007

My family and I have visited Mikey's shop since 1994. I personally have seen the blessings Mikey's shop has under gone. When I first start coming to his shop, he only had 3 bays and it was quite old looking.. Now, he has built it up to a 7 bay up-to-date shop with all the newest and greatest equipments. He has always been truthful and upcoming to my family and I. Which, I found that honarable in a business man. I mention these things because soon I'll be leaving out of state for work. Though, I can find another mechanic shop in the state I'm going to, but believe me, probably not the same service I received with Mikey. I give Mikey an ""A"" for effort and satisfaction of work. Pros: Master Certified Technicians on hand. Cons: Not open on Sundays more

There is no better and fairer in Houston. 11/2/2006

Although I was cringing when Mikey explained my oil leak was a little worse than I thought, he explained everything that needed to be done in great details. He also explained items I could do, but weren't immediately necessary. The work was well done and on time. After the repair I drove to Florida - twice in 2 weeks. A great job! Cons: Not the best part of town, but centrally located. more

I moved to Houston not to long ago, and I needed some service on my car. I didn't know where to go so I went on-line and I found Judy's Book here. I read an article that Alice wrote and she praised this shop, so I decided to go there. It was like being at my old mechanic shop back where I'm from. I loved it. The owner was nice and polite. I really believe he gave me an honest price and treated me fairly. I think Midtown Auto Service is the new name of the shop, but Mikey is still the owner. Because that's the person who I dealt with. Great Experience! 7/14/2006

I just moved to Houston and noticed my car was making a noise. I saw the great review of Mikey's on City Search and decided that was where I would go to get the repair. I wasn't disappointed! It turned out the noise was a minor fix and Mikey's didn't try to con me into unnecessary repairs. Oh! And, they even gave me a ride home so I didn't have to wait at the shop. I really appreciated the honesty and I will definitely be a repeat customer. \r \r By the way, I'm not sure why the person below me wrote that negative review... It sounds like they have never been to Mikey's. I never knew Mikey before today, but I truly had a good experience. Pros: honest, fair prices, ride home to avoid waiting at the shop more

Professional, positive and hand-holding 6/21/2006

I have been to Mikey's with both of my cars and I have been very happy with each experience. Mikey himself listens to your problem and explains it well, even showing you the problem directly. He always seems happy to listen while a lot of other mechanics act irritated that you're wasting their time.\r \r Fair, thorough and professional. That's all I could ask of a mechanic and Mikey's hits a home run every time. more

Go to Mikey and Mikey's 5/17/2006

I went there for an alignment because they had a better price compared to others in the downtown area, and are also highly recommended on Cityspace (with good reason). Younger Mikey was there and took care of my car and made sure we knew what was going on so there was no chance of surprises. Car was done exactly in the time they promised, and theres a great smoked chicken sandwich a short walk away at the nearby cafe G's & Z's. Fixed and Done Right 2/15/2006

I went online and searched for a reputable shop and I found Mikeys Auto Repair Shop. I found them in the AAA Approved Auto Repair website and did a Yahoo search and they were recommended highly. I found Mikey to be quite charming and pleasant to talk with. He was heplful with all my needs and answered everything I needed to know about my car problems. Pros: Honest, Helpful more

diagnostic repaired 1/19/2006

I failed my state inspection at a sticker stop and needed to find out what to do. I surfed the states web site to find a state emmission certified locaton. To my surprise, there wasn't but a handful of them. Mikeys auto was listed as a certified location by the state and AAA approved auto repair facility. He fixed the problem, in one day re-inspected my car at his location. more
