Average Pizza ~ Pricey 9/1/2007

After my first takeout order from Mellow Mushroom I have to say I am dissapointed. The pizza was not bad, however I was shocked when I picked up my order. The website doesn't list the prices for the menu items, so I was excpecting a total around 20 bucks or so.Well ..... for a large pizza with 5 toppings, 2 bottles of soda & 3 small pretzels it cost me 35.00! Sorry guys, you can get a better pizza dinner at Johnny's for much less. Pros: Good Crust Cons: Too Pricey more

MELLOW MUSHROOM 2/5/2007

The Mellow Mushroom off of Chamblee Dunwoody Road in Dunwoody, is absolutely disgusting. They have dogs running in and out of the restraunt and behind the kitchen. Also, between closing time and 5 a.m. they hold poker turnaments where they play for large cash rewards, drink and serve alcohol until 5 a.m. and smoke illegal substances. This HAS TO COME TO AN END. They need a health inspection, and for the police to come in and resolve this issue a.s.a.p more

Best Pizza Around and Excellent for Sport Nights!!! 1/1/2007

This is by far the best pizza around. This joint has awesome pizza, amazing televisions and good service. The price is great and the atmoshpere is fun. Pros: Amazing Pizza, Awesome Televisions Cons: Decent Service more

Great Product 4/30/2003

I have owned 8 pizza restuarants from 1990 to 2000 and Mellow Mushrooms concept and product is one of the freshest in Atlanta. The crust is the key to their great pizza, but their salads and hoagies are very good as well. Also it looks like a fun place to work so possibly employee turnaround might be minimal. I would recommend Mellow highly. more

Old reliable 4/23/2003

I've never been to the LaVista location but I've been to many others and I've never had a bad experience. Service can be spotty but the pizza is awesome - 2nd only to Dagwood's in Norcross for me. And their esperanza salad dressing is to die for. Pros: unpretentious, cool atmosphere, tasty Cons: slightly grungy, apathetic more

don't DO IT 4/22/2003

If you are from the south, a college kid, a yuppy or hippy, or one who likes fancy pizza's this is your place! If you want authentic Italian Pizza you will be dissapointed. Althought the variety is good the price will make you want head on over to CiCi's. Similar flavors at half the price. If you want true Italian Pizza....atlanta just doesn't have it! Go up North or head on over to South Italy for the real deal! -vincenzo scarzoni more

Good Pizza! 3/7/2003

As far as Atlanta goes, Mellow Mushroom is at the top! By far the best crust is the city, which is the back bone of any good pizza! There sauce is good, and the toppings are of a higher standerd then any other chain restaurant...IMO more

pizzalicious 3/6/2003

Great pizza tomatoes and cheese in the right amount, also cooked the way we like it. always good always crowded.. the crust is crunchy and tasty Pros: great crust, plenty of toppings, pleasant servers more

Food is slipping 2/24/2003

Ever since it became cool for mom and dad to take their kids to mellow mushroom they quality and taste has gone dowhill. more

Service not so mellow... 2/10/2003

Love the pizza, but not enough to put up with the surly attitude & indifferent service at the Northlake location (the Emory location's not like that, but they're pretty far from my neighborhood). Johnny's is just as good (often better), and I'm not made to feel like I'm interrupting the mating dance of the Gen X/Y-ers behind the counter (as is the case at MM-Northlake). Pros: Fresh ingredients, Good topping choice Cons: indifferent service, rude employees, rude employees more

crustmiester 2/10/2003

Solid pizza. Excellent crust. Unique taste. All round great pizza. The service was okay. The only complaint is having to pay at the register as opposed to the waitress taking the check. Pros: Fair pricing, Speedy service, good taste Cons: servers, long wait at register more

Shroomin Good 2/10/2003

By far my favorite place to eat. This place even beats New York style. I have yet to find a pizza that comes close. The atmosphere is origional and unique to each location. Their Hogies also rock my world. Pros: Unique, Taste more

Better the next morning 2/10/2003

My first visit to Mellow Mushroom was last night. Pizza was hard and fairly bland. I plan on trying it one more time to ease my mind of all these good ratings I see, but I am not impressed so far. I microwaved the leftovers today, which seemed to yield a better taste. Pros: "Pizza Joint" feel Cons: Hard pizza, Bland more

Best Pizza, EVER. Period. 1/14/2003

Fresh ingredients. The sauce complements but does not overpower the ""extras""/toppings. The crust is JUST right. I have been tasting pizza for many years, and this is still the very best pizza I've found. Pros: Absolute BEST pizza!, Price Reasonable, Free parking Cons: Music too loud more

Horrible pizza great marketting scam 1/13/2003

Mellow Mushroom is the worst most over rated pizza in atlanta. No matter in which location you end up you are sure to see a rude bunch of would-be welfare colectors serving up their attitude along with what has got to be the tasteless pizza. They do buy a good chunk of change on advertising in order to make it to these top ten pizza lists. more

Mellow Makes Me Melt! 1/9/2003

I love their pizza! I just moved back to Atlanta and I was so excited that there is a Mellow Mushroom right down the street. Their crust is amazing and their piza is sooo good. The mega-veggie is mega-delicious! Pros: Great pizza, Cool murals Cons: Some pizza are pricey, Servers with attitude more

Gourmet Pizza at it's best 1/8/2003

This is my favorite pizzaria. The pizzas are varied, the soda glasses large, and there is plenty to share with my daughter when my wife and I go to eat here. We just share with her, because the portions for individual items are too large for one person. Pros: taste, portions, casual Cons: iffy service more

I love this place 1/2/2003

I had the chance to go to Mellow Mushroom four years ago when I went to Atlanta for a week and I want to go back merely for the pizza. When I hear someone is going to Atlanta or someone is from there, I always make a point to mention it. The pretzels are the best. more
