Best

Have eaten here three times and have not been disappointed in anything. The flatbreads are awesome. They look so simple, but both of the ones I have eaten have been fantastic. ...

Worst

I took a group of potential employees for a nice, but casual dinner on a Tuesday evening. I have been told good things about Maggiano's but personally wasn't all that impressed. ...

great food- large portions!!! 8/21/2005

the food is hearty and flavorful. the traditional italian fare w/huge portions. two ppl need only order one dish and perhaps one appetizer. convenient curbside assistance. perfecttt for large parties- just order a few dishes and you're set! Pros: food, service, atmosphere more

Wonderful Italian 8/15/2005

I have been eating at Maggiano's since the day they opened in 2000 and, I have never been disappointed with the service or food. I never ate italian until a guy from Chicago told me about it. Some of the ratings I just read are amazing to me because, the food is great. I went Saturday, me and one of my friends and we were there about 3 hours and it was wonderful. Jim is my waiter of choice, he has been for 4 years. Cornelius at take out is wonderful, he makes sure your order is right. Pros: food, service, takeout Cons: na, na, na more

Americanized 7/14/2005

Maggiano's is too americanized and has that not so special chain-restaurant feeling. The service leaves quite a bit to be desired. more

Just Average 5/10/2005

I'm really not sure what all the fuss is about - Maggiano's? There are tons of Italian restaurants in Houston that have better food, better service, and aren't chains! I've been to this location a few times, and I'm not impressed. It's just... AVERAGE> more

OVER RATED! 4/14/2005

Large portions with no flavor, bland tasting food. This chain is the same in Philadelphia, Chicago and Houston, not even average tasting Italian food, very disappointed. Cons: huge bland tasting portions more

wonderful fare 2/4/2005

This place is a great venue for large parties or banquets - no quality in the food is lost at all. The pasta is fantastic, the spinach salad is delicious and I crace the tiramisu on a regular basis. There's a fantastic wine list with something for everyone's price range and palate. The only con is the wait if you arrive too late, so either make a reservation or get there on time. Pros: food , service, wine Cons: waiting, noise more

Great Restaurant/Bar 12/1/2004

I love this place.. Lots of great folks and the food is terrific with huge portions. The piano player, Patrick Brennan is just phenominal... He plays piano, sax, guitar, flute and has a great voice.. There are not too many song requests he can't handle.. If you are looking for great combination of food, cocktails and music, look no further than Magianno's... Pros: Great Food, Great Cocktails, Great Music more

INCREDIBLY Underrated 11/17/2004

Not sure why Maggiano's doesn't get more attention than it deserves. I have found it to be the best Italian Food in Houston without having to take out a loan for the bill. Service has always been top notch, and I just discovered the cocktail hour Shangri-la that is their bar! Was served one of the best vodka gimlet's, a difficult drink to order at many bards, I've had in months! Pros: Great Food, Great Drinks, Great Service more

What an Enjoyable Dinner 6/1/2004

We love this restaurant. Beth is the BEST waitress you will ever find. She is always happy and I think she truly wants you to enjoy your dinner or lunch. We've had several parties in the banquet rooms, that is a little pricie but talk to them and they might work with you. Its nice with kids or without. Wine list is very good not so large you can't find what your looking for but really good. For a more casual evening, outside is a must! Pros: Wine List, Wait Staff, Food more

Lunch 5/12/2004

I had lunch for 2 here on a Wednesday. Arrived Around 11:30, no problem to be seated, but do not arrived after 12:00. Very crowded, but the noise was not that loud. Service was good and the food was ok but have large quantities. Great place to have lunch or dinner with friend, but a average place for a romantic date. Pros: Service, Great Bread, Quantity of food Cons: , Crowded Tables more

Delightful 4/19/2004

5 of us went and had such a wonderful dinner. The family style was a great option because we each got to sample everything and the food was fantastic. There was a piano player in the bar area and the atmosphere was really festive. I would recommend this place. Pros: Family Style, Piano Player, Atmosphere more

The Hardest Critic - A waiter. 7/23/2003

A waiter myself, it doesn't take 5 minutes of being in a resturant to know what the food/spirits and service is going to be like. At Maggiano's with a group of friends, we received prompt service, seating and our drinks during a very busy business lunch crowd. Our waitress was wonderful, making suggestions and recommending additions to the menu items we inquired about. Knowledge of the menu, means that your going to get your entree' served correctly before it ever leaves the kitchen. At Maggiano's, our appetizers enticing, our bread and salads pleasing, our entree's were wonderfully prepared and created with a feel of individuality. Pros: Romantic, Fine Food and Spirits, Trained Staff Cons: Busy Lunch Crowd, RSVP your Lunch more

WILL NEVER SPEND A DIME AT THIS PLACE 3/3/2003

Took my girlfriend there for her birthday, walked in and the hostess seemed bothered to have to serve somebody. It was Sunday at around 3pm. She rudely walked us to a table, threw the menu's on the table (which almost fell off the table) and walked away without saying your server will be right with you or anything. She went to talk to a waitress. Waited 5 minutes for service and finally GOT UP AND WALKED OUT....what a joke!!!! Pros: NOTHING, NOTHING, NOTHING Cons: SERVICE, ATTITUDE, HOSTESS more

Best atmosphere 1/28/2003

Maggiano's has the best atmosphere. Fun, charming and warm. Best value and you can't ever finish the food. Their family combos are the best. High class food and service for great value and prices. Try the cappicino's they're better than Starbucks's. Their bar is great for meeting someone for lunch and they have a great lunch menu. Pros: a lot of food more

Absolutely Fabulous 1/21/2003

The food was wonderful. The service was friendly, prompt, and attentive. I would recommend this restuarant to all my friends. more

Excellent 1/6/2003

One of the better Italian resturants around, in fact, the best in the stata of Texas. This place is consistantly good with exceptional service and ambiance. Never disappoints. Pros: Food, Atmosphere, service more

Soprano's The Houston Chapter 1/2/2003

THis is what I suspect Chicago looks like. The bar is very entertaining but the food is huge portions of nothing, I should have eaten the tablecloth it probably had more flavor. more

Very Tastey 12/31/2002

The portions are exceptionally large, so I would recommend getting half orders. My kids and I enjoy Maggiano's, there is something to feed everyone. There are places that have better pasta with respect to consistency, however, they don't have the flavour. more

best value 12/2/2002

I went there for my birthday. We had a group of 14 people there. We were seated propmtly and ate from the family style menu. The waitstaff were the best I have ever had! The food was wonderful and the price reasonable. I would definitly recommend this restaurant to everyone!!! Pros: staff, great value more

All bark, little bite 11/17/2002

We went for Sunday lunch, so maybe it was just a bad time. Our waiter was watching football. No, I'm not joking. I went to the restroom while I was waiting on a refill and he was at the bar watching the game. Then, literally at least ten minutes after he took our order, he came back and asked what I ordered again. This was after we had waited ten minutes for them to fill up our water glasses or even come to our table in the first place. Must've been a good game. I had the angel hair with ""Mike's special sauce"". The special sauce was neither special nor good. I shared my friend's lasagna instead. The lasagna was the only redeeming quality about this visit. It was delicious, and enough for both of us. The service, however, left a bad taste in my mouth. Pros: The lasagna Cons: Service, "Special sauce" more
