its a good time, great service, I had the food which was just average, but service was out of this world. The server suggested the steak sandwich, it was really good but the chips...

Worst

Lucky Strike is a cool addition to the Hollywood scene, but the service is horrible! On a recent Friday night, the 14 year old manning the bowling lane reservations completely me...

Nice time... 10/17/2011

GOOD FUN 2/12/2011

its a good time, great service, I had the food which was just average, but service was out of this world. The server suggested the steak sandwich, it was really good but the chips was average, drinks were stiff, and all this even before the bowling. Parking was only 2 bucks which you couldn't beat. Overall really good time. more

Great time 1/13/2011

I love when I can go out with friends and really have fun with them. If we go to a restaurant or bar the conversation is the same one we have had over and over before. If we go to Lucky Strike we are actually having so much fun bowling and laughing at our terrible skills that our old conversations get to take a rest for the night. The waitresses are really hot. The bartenders are cool. The food is average but who really cares. Can't forget Mr. Pinn, well he is a hard act to follow (now you have to go to see what I mean). This place isn't just a bowling alley. Feels like a night at a club with the live dj. Great idea. more

Fun different night out 6/22/2010

Went here with some friends I was visiting, and we had a great time. I love the idea of the lounge, bar, bowling alley hybrid. The drinks were really good, at a totally reasonable price. I'd definitely recommend checking it out! Pros: cool atmosphere, good service, strong drinks more

Had so much fun! 7/8/2009

I recently went to Lucky Strike for a friend's birthday party. It was amazing! The place was so nice. I had no idea that bowling was this much fun, I haven't bowled in years. I will def be coming back. Pros: dj, smoking patio more

The Way Bowling Should Be! 5/18/2009

Recently went to Lucky Strike for a friend's 23rd and had a blast! Pros: exciting atmosphere, great bar more

Could be much better! 1/26/2009

My spouse and I went to have a drink we live right down the street and all I wanted was a glass of wine. We ordered our first glass bartender was sweet a little out of it but sweet. A clearly very intoxicated man started talking to us and ordered a shot ( they deff should not of served him). After he bought us a shot he was very kind until that last shot really kicked in, he repeatedly asked where his girlfriend was when I said I do not know since we have never meet he poked at me and called my a F-------ing B--ch. The security came over after my other already calmed the guy down and told us we had to leave, we said we were not with him and we stayed as well as they did not kick out the drunk man. He did the same thing again, and my spouse tried to get the drunk man to leave and lead him outside, when the man wouldn't leave we gave up, wanted to go finish the drinks we paid for and leave. They security would then not let us back in, we explained him again what happened and all he could say is that there were no drinks left ( which ours were full ) but the drunk was still inside. He was very rude, guess he thought he was a Hollywood security so he can treat others with disrespect, but I like to remind that he is at Lucky Strike. The atmosphere seemed cool I have been to other Lucky Strikes and this one seemed to be filled with the out of town want to be crowd, a little to much for my taste. Ill stick to my dive bars where the rude drunks are the ones who get kicked out. Pros: Close to other things Cons: Bad Security more

Lucky is Right!!! 12/4/2008

My friend and I stumbled upon Lucky Strikes when some of our plans fell through. We went in near midnight...there was no crowd and no line. We received perfect customer service, went straight to our lane, and had alot of fun being goofy and laughing at our poor scores. When it came close to the close of the bowling alley, we finished our game and went to the register to pay. By this time, they had shut down everything so we had a great time bowling and receiving excellent service and consideration for Free. My experience at Lucky Strikes is not a common one at all so I would say we were Lucky. Pros: Ambience, Convenient Garage Parking, Impeccable Service, Good place for after-work or a date more

JUST FUN! 7/16/2008

My girlfriend and I often go to Lucky Strike in the afternoons when they aren't busy. We have a few drinks and bowl for hours. ""Drunk Bowling!"" It's one of our favorite things to do. The company I work for has also rented the place out for events and we had a blast! Pros: atmosphere, drinks, bowling Cons: the wait on busy nights more

BEWARE OF FRAUD AT CASHIER AND BAR 2/15/2008

They now say they can only split a lanes bill 2 ways - so if you have a group of people, it's a huge headache... for you - but will gladly accept cash to pay down the bill if you want to leave early. But beware, they pocket that cash and don't remove it from your bill so your friends pay them again. more

Tourist trap with style 11/23/2007

This is a huge bar and bowling alley located in the Hollywood and Highland complex, and frankly, it's interesting enough to be fun. The crowd tends to be a bit frat-like, or used-to-be frats, but because it is a bowling alley, it's fun. Yet another great place for people watching and a good drink. I didn't bowl just did the bar thing. The waitresses could have come around more often, though. All in all, a unique scene for a one-time visit. Pros: Great bowling alley Cons: Average bar more

Horrible for Bowling-- Worst Service Imaginable 8/4/2007

I went with a girlfriend to Lucky Strike in Hollywood to go bowling, have drinks, the whole bit. We put our name on a list and were told it would be about twenty minutes. After an hour, we asked how the progress was and were told we were really close. Another half hour went by and when we asked this time, the guy told us that, honestly, if we wanted to bowl tonight, we should go somewhere else because he couldn't promise even 'getting us in.' Now, we had been really cool and understanding, but when he said this, we asked to see a manager. We'd waited an hour and a half for a silly lane to bowl, had been told twenty minutes, and now this fellow was telling us we waited for nothing. We explained what happened to the manager, such as he was, and he was apologetic but unhelpful. Sort of, yeah that's too bad but we have large groups and they trump everything-- it's tough luck for you. Pros: ummm, they serve beer? Cons: everything else more

If You've Never Been To Lucky Strike, You Just Don't Know!!!! 5/8/2007

I'm from NorCal, but end up in LA a lot. Almost everytime I ask someone, ""Have you been to the Lucky Strike?"" their response is, ""Oh, the bowling alley...?"" Then I feel as if I must act as a promoter, because they are SOOO misinformed. If anyhting, it is one of Hollywood's hottest nightclubs, that just happens to have the coolest bowling lanes I've ever seen, inside! If I go out to LA for a weekend, you can bet that on one of my nights in town, I'm goin to The Lucky Strike! Pros: Everything! The Food, the FuNn, the Good Lookin Crowd and Staff =) Cons: Don't forget to bring in your parking ticket yo get stamped. The difference between validation(2$) and not ($10) is another drink ;) more

Best bartenders ever! 4/26/2007

I love the bartenders @ Lucky Strike they make the best drinks and there all so HOT. Did I mention that I love Jacey . Pros: Parking, Service, Food, Atsmophere more

Great Bartenders 4/16/2007

I was there on Friday evening after the Dodger game... My buddies and I were just hanging out at the bar and the crew behind it was super chill. The bartender Jaylee was especially cool, my buddies and I don't like the whole ""Hollywood"" attitude that comes with most places and their staff but Lucky Strike proved that there are still places to go in downtown Hollywood that both the blue collar guy and the Hollywood Elite can both go. I say this because at the same time we got there on Friday Tom Cruise was having a party there... it was pretty decent that the staff was so cool, made us guys feel comfortable... more

great service, yummy food, fun atmosphere 4/13/2007

My company had a party at Lucky Strikes last week, and it was so so. Drink tickets (which were gone in under an hour) the same old people I see every day, and a bowling tournament than no one was paying any attention to. So I wandered over to the big bar for a draft beer (they don't have any in the VIP room) bit what I got was so much more. The bartender literally bounced over to me with a menu tucked under her arm, and then quickly listed all of the beers when she saw me squinting at them. She let me taste the two I hadn't tried and when I chose Guiness ( my old fall back) she poured it the right way, letting it settle and then writting a cute heart in the foam instead of the standard clover. She chatted with me and the couple next to me and before I knew it I had coconut shrimp and breaded macaroni and cheese bites steamming in front of me. They were delicous and probably saved me from a hangover. I hate driving in from Santa Monica, but now I think I should have my wifes birthday here, as long as I get the same fun staff, food and music, to tell you the truth the bowling was my least favorite part. Over all I have to say I was very pleasantly suprised more

Great Hangout!!! Great Food!!! Great Fun!!! 3/19/2007

Lucky Strike Lanes is a wonderful place to enjoy good music, chill out and grab a beer. Their staff is hardworking and friendly, especially considering the high volume down at the lanes. Surprisingly, their food was very good. I was expecting bowling alley food, but received one of the best burgers I've eaten in a long time. Differently not your typical bowling alley menu. The atmosphere was great and it would be a very cool place to throw a private event. I would give Lucky Strike Hollywood two thumbs up. Pros: Great staff, good food, cool atmosphere, typical city prices, party central! Cons: Wait for Bowling more

What happened to this place? 3/18/2007

I met a few friends here last week, and boy have things changed! I think it's been about 2 years since I was here last. The service was horrible! The bartenders and waitresses had some serious attitude! Not only did it take over 20 minutes to get the first round, she never came by to check on us. We ended up just ordering from the bar! We had to ask the busser for a menu, and when our waitress finally came back and got our order, she came by a minute later with our bill for the first round and food and added a 20% gratuity! Hello, if you don't like your job- get a different one! Lose the attitude! The guys at the bowling desk were nice- but too drunk to be working. The place still looks cool, although the music is a bit outdated and loud. It was also really dead compared to what I remembered a couple years ago, and the crowd has definitely changed. Our drinks were expensive but weak. The bowling was fun- I love bowling! But the service and atmosphere kinda ruined it- we left feeling like we wasted money. I really don't recommend it- it's just not the same. I think they need some new people in there running things...too bad. Pros: comfortable smoking area, upbeat atmosphere Cons: terrible service, expensive, need better music more

Modern, stylish bowling with incredibly weak drinks 2/20/2007

Went for a birthday party. My friend had reserved two lanes, and we had about 8 of us on each lane. The facilities themselves were nice. There was always a waitress nearby checking on us. Unfortunately, the drinks we probably the weakest I've ever tasted. Fortunately they weren't outrageously overpriced, but for the amount of alcohol in them, they should have been free. Wait times for lanes get very long very quickly, so making a reservation seems to be the way to go. The downside is that I think you pay extra. My friend's reservation was $300 for two lanes for two hours. At least the show rentals were included... Pros: well maintained, fun atmosphere Cons: extremely weak drinks, difficult to get a lane more
