Le Peep

Le Peep is one of my favorite restaurants for breakfast (my favorite meal), and friends have told me that they have pretty good lunch items, but I am always on the great breakfast hunt. There are several locations in the Chicagoland area, but my favorite is in Evanston. This is comfortable spot, nothing fussy, with really good breakfast choices, and best of all, Le Peep offers a value card where you can punch your way to a free meal. Just about everything I have ordered here I like from the sizzling hobo choices to pancakes to omelets to cinnamon buns. It's family friendly. Just be warned that the place can get very crowded on the weekends with lines extending well out the door on sunny days. It will be worth your wait, even though you might be tempted by other restaurants in the area. The Evanston location is close to the library, bookstores, shops, and movies. If you are looking for simple good food for breakfast, this is it. Great wait staff too. more

This is my most visited restaurant in Evanston. I love this place. It's right there in downtown and offer a good variety of breakfast, omelets, panini, pancakes and so on. I take my family to this place almost every other weekend. Their omelets and pancakes are especially good. I recommend going there early in the weekends since there is usually a queue. But it is definitely worth to wait. more

When I was going to school at Northwestern, Le Peep was such a treat. The items on their menu is always reasonably priced, and if you can find a buy one meal get one free coupon in the student newspaper, it's a steal. The food comes in big portions, and tastes really good. At the same time, they're able to maintain a very homey atmosphere. more

This restaurant has great breakfasts - we've tried everything from skillets and omlettes to french toast and pancakes. Great kids meals, too. It can be very busy on weekends, and street parking isn't easy to find, so be warned. Still, it's a nice place to come with family to relax on the weekends. Good coffee and smoothies. more
