Mediocre fancy grocery store 3/31/2006

This place is not that great. I only used to bother going here because it was close to where I worked. They did occasionally have some decent sales, but the produce didn't look that great, and the seafood section was absolutely nasty - lots of flies and it smelled gross. I would never buy any meat or seafood there. The deli was ok - though super overpriced and very few decent vegetarian sandwiches. Overall, I don't like any of the Larry's Markets, and would much rather go to the PCC. more

Great for the Eyes, Hard on the Wallet 3/29/2006

Larry's is a beautiful gourmet market. Their displays of produce, seafood, baked goods and prepared foods are a visual treat for sure. But, they are expensive! If you are a single type who is not really versed in the skill of cooking, but would like to impress a friend, come to Larry's and pick up some ready to heat type meals and you will surely impress your friend. It's just gonna cost you. more

Only the Best 8/29/2005

If I want fresh local yummy peaches (like the one I had this morning) or gravenstein apples or any fresh fruit or vegetable, Larry's Maket is the place to go. Of all of the grocers in the Redmond area Larry's is the best for produce, hands down. They can be a little more $; but for the fresh in season produce, they are competitivly priced. Their deli serves breakfast. It is an ok breakfast. The last one I had there didn't seem to be "hot off the grill." Larrys is a great option for lunch. There is a nice outdoor seating area (as well as indoors). You can't go wrong with their tomato bisque and a freshly made sandwich to order, or a freshly made salad. Try the pre-made winter wheat salad with cranberries and bits of apple. It is chewy and tart, a very healthy, hearty choice. The deli counter staff is helpful and pleasant sample anything you want. You can order a brick or wheel of any kind of cheese you can imagine too. There's more, wait until you see the baked goods and the seafood and meat counters. If you want truffle honey or truffle oil -- they got it, and more... At Larry's I don't buy the standard stuff like TP, etc. This store is where I get all of the fresh produce and unusual or gourmet items. more

Find that perfect bottle of wine 6/19/2005

Use Larry's to find the perfect bottle of wine. This can be a tall order, as you might be used to drinking "Three-buck Chuck" from your local Trader Joe's, or falling prey to the whims of the sommalier at your favorite neighborhood bistro. It's difficult to go wrong with Larry's selection, ranging from California Cabernets to Australian shiraz, all priced (somewhat) reasonably and offering the valuable service of knowledgeable staff who drink wine for the taste and enjoyment of its combination with good food. Larry's is also a good place to find speciality meats and cheeses, and that weird fruit or vegetable that you can't find at QFC or Safeway. Don't go expecting a bargain, but do go expecting to find something satisfying and unusual. more
