Editorial review from Citysearch 6/24/2012

I have been seeing Dr. Smith for many years for a variety of conditions some are Depression, Bipolar, BPD and dealing with past and present traumas. I'm not always pleasant to be around. Dr. Smith is very compassionate, is very very patient with me when no one else cares to even try. I've never met a therapist like him and I have been to a few. Now that I know my conditions I know why prior therapists ran me off but I'm amazed he hasn't after all these years. I've improved in several areas. I'm more compassionate and have made major strides in trust just by working with him. He trusts me even knowing I can be rageful and hard to deal with and in turn I've finally learned to trust someone and that is him. His office manager has always been accommodating with me and I've learned to deal with the fact that Dr. Smith is busy so if he can't fit me in once in awhile I know its because he's helping others. Communication hasn't been a problem for me with his office. I'm surprised at some of the comments that aren't so good. All I can say is six years later I'm still working with him. I've been demanding in the past about appointments and have learned to back off and remember it's not always about me, he has other patients too. I'd rather have a busy doctor like him, he can handle it, than one that has so much free time because he or she isn't so good. I've had that experience with many psychiatrists. more

Kevin Smith and his office manager 6/7/2012

Kevin Smith and his office manager Edward Munoz are awesome. Kevin is an exceptional doctor who is very kind and deeply understanding. Edward is a pleasure. He is very professional and does everything possible to make you comfortable. I can only image the amount of paperwork that must be completed for each patient for insurance. I highly recommend Kevin as a therapist. more

I have been a satisfied patient for 6/6/2012

I have been a satisfied patient for over 2 years and find the office staff to be competent, prompt, & professional. Dr. Smith is a great therapist who has helped me learn to live with chronic pain . more

Terrible Office Help 5/17/2012

I have never seen Dr Smith and he may be the best counselor ever however, his office impressions are the worst I have ever had to deal with in Houston medical community. It took 2 days for my call to be returned, then I was put on hold 5 times during a conversation. The staff member did not know the email address, servor or web site. Very Rude more

Helped me overcome my anxiety 2/20/2010

I agree with the other positive reviews here. Dr. Smith has helped me so much with my anxiety. I was having panic attacks and I was going to doctors thinking that I was having a heart attack. With his help, I don't have them anymore. I was surprised to read about ""icky first impression"" experience, because the office staff at Dr. Smith's is very friendly and helpful. He works at his Houston office most days (four out of five). He offers evening appointments, and I have never had to wait ten weeks for an appointment. I guess you can't believe everything that you read in a review from one person. Pros: Very Positive and Experienced. Cons: None that I noticed. more

icky first impression 7/16/2009

The person on the phone was abrupt and cold. Would not make an appoinment w/o having insurance confirmed. Plus, there is a 10 week wait for an initial appointment because Dr. Smith is only in Houston a few days a week. Very condescending. I went elsewhere. Pros: unknown Cons: first impressions count more

Helps make positive changes PERMANENT 6/22/2009

I have several chronic problems, diabetes, obesity, and neuropathy, and I had given up on taking care of myself. Dr. Smith helped me not just to start taking my meds and follow my diet, etc., but to really enjoy life again for the first time in a long time. I am female and was worried about how I would relate to a male psychologist, but it was never a problem. Pros: Great listener, well-run office, helps cope w/chronic pain Cons: Handicap entrance in the rear and not well-marked more

Best Therapist 6/14/2006

I've been seeing Dr. Smith for over two years. I have not stayed with therapists very long because they were not genuine and didn't seem to care and he is quite the opposite. Pros: Relaxing, informal atmosphere, and very nice office manager Cons: There aren't any cons so why make one up? more
