I am a pain in the a** and I refused to over pay. I looked far and wide and I'm telling you this is the place. Once I got my quote I by happen stance was introduced by a mutual friend to a diamond buyer who sells to wholesalers. He checked out the diamond I was buying and the price and told me I was paying like 3% over cost. Are you kidding me? The average is 100% to 200%. I've been looking for an engagement ring to surprise my gf. I visited many stores looking for the right one at the right price then I stumbled into Jewels by Joe which had a good selection of what I was searching for. The service was excellent and the people were very knowledgeable, patient and professionals. When searching for my engagement ring, my husband and I went to dozens of the jewelry stores and never found what we were looking for. Jewels By Joe was the last store we went to on the last day we visited the LA Jewelry District and we were SO SICK of being hustled and up-sold and just felt discouraged. Enter Maya/Jewels By Joe. She treated us like actual people even though we didn't have a crazy huge budget. She listened to what we wanted, showed us any and everything we asked to see and discussed with us all of our options. We ended up with a BEAUTIFUL ring that was over twice the size we were expecting to be able to afford that we were able to custom design ourselves, with the help of Maya and Joe. I get compliments on my ring all the time...and just keep to myself how affordable it actually was. We were so happy we went back and bought our wedding bands and bridal jewelry there as well. They will clean and inspect your jewelry at any time for free. The customer service lasts for life. I am going back to have my ring cleaned and inspected tomorrow and just to chat with Maya and our wedding was a year and a half ago. The Jewelry District in LA has hundreds of jewelers wanting your business, so why go somewhere that has horrible professionalism. If you are serious about purchasing a diamond, go to somewhere that knows what to look for besides just what the GIA, AGS, EGL and other certificates say. Educate yourself online so you do not get taken advantage of and by all means please shop around. I did and saved $2,000 on a loose diamond and $500 on a setting. Jewels By Joe says that they have custom settings, but just walk down the street and you will find that all the jewelers in the Jewelry District have the same settings. I bet you will find the same setting for a better price too... You are the consumer and have the power. Don?t spend more than you have to for the same thing you can find elsewhere!
