Perfect! 8/13/2008

Very modern and beautiful. The servers are all gorgeous as everyone else has said. The food is good and at a reasonable price (lobster tail 7 oz for only $16!) Good selection of food and drink. The service isnt excellent, we had to find our own peper shaker, but she did check in on us 5 times. The desserts are great too! Pros: reasonable price, good food and drink, free parking, good scene Cons: so-so service, dont take reservations more

I didn't get poor - I got great all-around! 6/2/2008

My bro-in-law's suggested we dine here based on a couple of his lunch experiences. And so we did to celebrate me & my twin's birthday along with our hubby's. But I came skeptical & critical about everything based on the poor reviews of Joeys left by other members. I have to say my dining experience was OUTSTANDING in every area. We were promptly greeted and chose to be seated in their outdoor patio only open for a week, on an unexpected sunny warm evening. Our server was bubbly & friendly and struck a great balance of meeting our needs without being intrusive and allowing us to enjoy our conversation and the gorgeous evening. Cool drinks and apps were served right away. I recommend their succulent hibachi style wings and gorgonzola toasted french bread. Everyone was satisfied with their entree, but I absolutely loved mine - the Filet Mignon. Now this place is not noted as a steakhouse and has a wonderfully diverse menu where I could have easily gone for a burger or chicken, a pasta dish or salad, but was craving a good steak - and they nailed it! Juicy, tender, flavorful and paired with deliciously inventive crispy mashed potatoes (like a mashed potato spring roll) and asparagus - heaven! To wrap it up: food - delicious!, price - reasonable, menu - diverse, atmosphere - casual, & just hip enough to feel special, service - prompt & friendly (even manager and other staff inquired how we were enjoying our food & service, and when I asked where the restroom was I was escorted rather than just told - I think they're definitely trying to go the extra mile!). This is my first review of any restaurant on citysearch but I felt compelled since I had nothing short of a superb experience and was ready to mark Joeys off my list based on all the negative reviews before I'd even tried it. more

Just don't do it. 1/30/2008

First, the good stuff - the place looks really nice and the prices really aren't bad at all ($8-$20). I was pretty surprised when we got the menu, lots of really tempting choices. We were seated very promptly (tuesday night) and the server checked on us several times while we waited for the last member of our party (4 total). We ordered and the food arrived in a reasonable time - that's when things fell apart. She didn't place my order so it arrived about 15 minutes after everyone else's - not a huge deal though honestly. However, no one was terribly impressed with their entrees, it looked nice, but it was just okay. I ordered the special of the evening (battered bassa fish n'chips) which was rather greasy, even for fish + chips. But, really, I'm not that picky so I ate most of the fish anyway as I was a guest of someone else and really didn't want to complain. Now, I wish I'd run away, far far away. I've been pretty sick since. Not, oh gosh I might die, sick, just wow, I want to go home early the next day and sleep it off. I'm not a picky eater at all - iron stomach even, exotic food, I travel a lot, etc - it just really didn't agree with me. It's amazing to think about it, but I think this is actually the worst food I've had in Seattle. I'm sure it's just a one off thing, bad night or whatever, - but, I won't be back. There are plenty of places for good food that won't make you ill, even once. Pros: nice decor, free parking Cons: it made me ill more

Dont expect super service. 6/14/2007

I like the food and the atmosphere here. I love the Super Nova Vodka and Soda - strawberry - I will come back frequently just for that (and the new school wings and crab dip). Appetizers are really interesting, if you can find room in the bar, take it, its very stylish. I havent had the greatest service, but most of the waitresses work for their tips. When I tell people about Joey's, I always add the "pretty service" disclaimer, the place is pretty, the pretty ladies are chipper and friendly, but special requests tend to slip their mind and Server 101, like drink refills (especially the free drinks, like water or soda) take too long and checking back after entrees arrive doesnt happen often. Go if you dont mind flaky waitresses. Pros: Interesting food, nice ambience, good drinks Cons: Overpriced, inattentive staff, terrible for groups more

dating service or food service? 5/6/2007

i wasn't sure. i went there at least 5 times because i just really like the atmosphere really chic and chill. they really cater to the men. thats a definite. i'm a female; but its not liek they ignore me, but i feel the special attention towards my guy friends. i mean the only reason why i go back is for the ambience and happy hour and lounge. food is horrible. really not tasteful. if my friends from out of town came and wanted something for hapy hour id ttake 'em here, but not for good food. Pros: ambience, atmosphere, happy hour Cons: service food more

Not worth the money 4/18/2007

Our server will be in the hall of records for one of the worst I ever had. She didn't know anything about the menu, the food, or how to be a waitress. Pros: Blue cheese fries are pretty good, will validate parking Cons: Bad service, overpriced more

Our server will be in the hall of records for one of the worst I ever had. She didn't know anything about the menu, the food, or how to be a waitress. They have some things that are pretty good like the blue cheese fries but the edamame were so salty we could not eat them. It took at least five minutes to try and flag a server down to ask for parmesan cheese for the pasta which never showed up. If they are going to continue charging $3.49 for a piece of bread they will need to step up the service along with the quality of the food. We were very dissappointed with the whole experience. Pros: Blue cheese fries are pretty good, will validate parking Cons: Bad service, overpriced more

They serve food? 12/29/2006

OK - so the food is pretty good but lets be honest. The reason people (mostly men) go here is the waitresses are georgeous. How funny is it that some crazy woman complains that the waitresses only pay attention to men? Why is Joey's in business? Because they have beautiful waitresses. If you want a high end H**ters - this is your spot. The food and drinks are secondary. Pros: where do they find beautiful waitresses in Seattle? more

no reservations 11/17/2006

JOeys does not take reservations any longer so when we had my friend b-day there we had to arrive 2 hours early just to make sure we got a table. They did end up making up a table for our large group and we had a wonderful time. THe garlic bread is awesome here. We always order a side. They also have to die for bellinis with crushed ice and real peach juice :) more
