I just had my first cut/color experience with Illusions. The cut, as mentioned by the earlier reviewer, was $43. Pretty high, especially since I have long hair, and it was really only a trim. At that appointment I also had a free color consultation. My hair is quite gray naturally so I usually get a "double process" to be brunette with blonde highlights.
When I came back after making an appointtment for the coloring, the person I was originally booked with was running late, and I was given another stylist. She seemed to disagree with the first as to how to get the desired look. Turned out the time booked was not sufficent to do a "Gloss" and "Sparklight" they both eventually agreed I needed. That's fine...I'm not complaining about that at all. Whatever it takes to get it right.
So I went back today and got both done by Carolyn. It looks fine, but I think next time I would do a partial foil as the highlights are really only along my part. That's not her fault; I need to know what to ask for.
But...here's the thing I want to warn people about. I was charged as the price sheet said for the gloss ($58) and Sparklights ($48) which should have totalled $106. But, I was billed an additional $25 for a total of $131. Upon examing the price list after I got home I noted "Finished Style Added To Color Service...$25". Evidently getting my hair blow-dried before leaving was the extra $25. OUCH! Good thing you don't have to tip.
I will go back, but next time I'll pass on the "finished style"!!! You could really rack up a bill at this salon...
