Ikea

I have to admit the first time I went to an IKEA store I was with my 4 grandchildren. They knew the way to the childrens section and I was pulled, tugged and rushed through the maze, hundreds of people and my head was spinning by the time I left. The next time I went with my loving hubby who loves to shop. Ladies if you're hubby does not love to shop leave this store to another time when you can really look around. There are creative items in that store that cost a little but make your home look very expensive. Take some time to view everything don't just stroll by. Maybe even before you go visit a model home or two and look at the decorations. Model homes are beautifully set up and inviting to the eye. Your home can look exactly like these and for little money. There are many items in the store that are very cheap and made with the paper or glued together wood chips called particle board but there are many peices that are real wood and are less than the designer stores. Don't forget to look in all the bends there are items you can't live with out. My husband had been looking for a good felit knife and they were all so expensive he had just waited until he could find one that was on sale. Low and behold there was one at IKEA and he loves it. Ikea is probably the worst furniture store I have ever been too and I have never had a positive experience with this place. Firstly, Ikea is known for having some of the cheapest furniture on the market. In terms of quality, the furniture is as low as the prices are. When testing out and examining some of the furniture I found that the majority of what's available is generally very unsturdy and of poor construction. In some cases the quality was so poor that it felt like I was knocking on some cheap cardboard instead of wood. A lot of the furniture here is made to look nicer than it actually is and the online catalogs can be very misleading. It also isn't unusual to see broken furniture lying around in the store. In terms of comfort, the furniture here is some of the worst. Just about every bed, chair, and couch here is very low to the ground. The beds and mattresses feel like crates and pebbles, and some even feel like your about to fall through. When testing out the beds, the mattresses were so thin that I could feel the support frames underneath and the beds themselves were not very sturdy either. When it came to seating I found similar issues with the cushioning and the issues related to furniture height only added to this discomfort. Worst of all was one of the office chairs, it was more like a short stool that bounced around like a carnival ride when you sit in it.. just terrible. The worst part about coming here though is the layout, it's literally a human-sized rat maze. In order to get out the place you have to go through every part of the store.. also once you reach the end of the line, there is no way to exit without going through the registers. They also block off the registers that aren't being used and the people at the front expect you to buy something before leaving the store. It's also really easy to get lost in here, so try to avoid being separated from friends or family if you come here. Other issues I have encountered here include; crowding, unhelpful employees, and even the sight of people trying to use the display toilets. Coming here reminds me of how much better everyplace else is. more

I just wanted to say how unsatisfied I am with Ikea. First of all the customer service is horrible! There are hardly any staff members available on the top floor to help you and if you are lucky to find any, they are so indulged in their personal conversation that they don?t even acknowledge you until they are done. They give you a vague answer and don?t even try to help you! After 2 whole hours at this store I go downstairs to get the parts only to find out they out of stock! This has happened on 2 numerous occasions within the last 3 months (parts being out of stock). You would think they would be smart enough to stock especially when one part can make 15 plus different items! It is simply ridiculous and a complete waste of my day! Between the horrible service and lack of stock, I doubt I will be returning to Ikea, it is just not worth the hassle, waste of time and disappointment! more

Honestly, what do yo expect from sales people who are getting paid $9.00 an hour to listen to customers complain about how confusing the store is 100 times a day. Sales people have to not only ""sell"" but they have to clean up after hundreds of people, create price tags, design, change sofa covers, fix furniture, make beds.... the list goes on and on. I have always loved this store!!! it has so many different items to choose from and its very inexpensive compared to other stores in town. more

Do not go here if you are looking for great customer service and appreciation! Went there 3 times in one week to buy bedroom furniture, and all 3 times had a problem with customer service. Everyone seemed to not want to help, and were very rude when they finally did help. It was alot of hassle to have to load things in the warehouse yourself with basically no one wanting to lend a hand. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere where your business will be appreciated with respect! Pros: trendy furniture Cons: BAD customer service, Huge maze/confusion, no one cares more

i bought my daughter furniture from ikea and i will never go back there again. After a month of having the furniture it started to fall apart and break. the quality of the furniture is terrible. more

IKEA is great wether you are oung or older~ it has a unique style that you can't help but to love! And the prices are great for people who are starting out withtheir first apt or home. We love going there just to look at the new items they get! Its like a local hang out for us!! more

This store is full of ""cardboard"" furniture! If anyone has bee here, yes, the furniture is inexpensive, but so is it's quality. I would furnish my son's college apartment with this stuff, but certainly not my house. Get some taste! more
