It Is Immersive 4/28/2011

Mileage is going to vary with the Imax Experience. The warning to all moviegoers prone to motion sickness is to be taken seriously, as I found out much to my chagrin. The screen wraps around so completely that there is no way to just look for a corner of the screen the focus on until your motion sickness goes away. The pre-show greeter recommends you try closing your eyes, but even that isn't really fool-proof, as the light changes are so intense that you can still see them behind your eyelids. And the problem with sitting in the back for me is that I am also mildly afraid of heights. The incline in this theater is so steep that it gave me vertigo and I had to climb back down to a lower row of seats. Also worth noting: if you do step out, you will not be able to get out the front and can only get out the back, and you will not be able to get back in. I think that's to preserve the experience by limiting light exposure from outside, but it also means that you'd better not go crazy on the jumbo sized drink if you don't want to be holding it until the end. I did find the service to be good and the theater to be clean, and this is one of the rare theaters in town that offers alcoholic beverages at the concession stand. Also, their game room has a pool table and foosball table for extra win. I think that if you have a strong stomach and no fear of heights, that you will really enjoy taking in a movie at this theater. As for me, I'm sticking to the multiplex. more

I loved it 1/18/2010

Was there to see a show of short movies. One of them was The Old Man And The Sea. I totally loved it! I can imagine kids don't like the place because there was not stupid popcorn and coke everywhere LOL Pros: HUGE screen, not crowded more

Terrible Movie 5/9/2007

Saw the dinosaur movie. It's terrible, my kids wanted to leave and thought it was lame. Rest of the place was boring too. Cons: Terrible dino movie more

Don't Recommend 4/9/2007

This place is a rip off! Spent almost a hundred bucks to get in and there is nothing to the place. Much of the activities are broken or just don't do what they are supposed to. The movie screen isn't good for regular movies and the place is grungy. Wouldn't even think about eating there. Cons: Skip this place - Bad more

Terrible Classes and over priced 4/9/2007

Signed my child up for a spring break class, which was pretty expensive. He had a horrible time. I found the teacher to be boring and seemed uninterested in kids. I won't take my kids there for the summer classes. My daughter didn't like the kids museum and was anxious to leave. The bathrooms and lunch room were very dirty. Pros: Not Much Cons: Don't Take the Classes more

Curve Screen Distortion 3/14/2007

Not a great place for regular movies. the curve of the screen distorts the picture and it's hard to see the picture. Channel Side is better if you have to see a movie on a big screen. Not worth the extra money and the snacks are more expensive. Pros: Not Crowded - No One There Cons: Bad Viewing and Sound more

Awful Place 3/13/2007

Old and dilapitated. Very bad show is a very bad museum. Don't bother going. There was only 1 show that day - had to wait hours to see it and then the equipment was only half working and the employee knew nothing about astronomy and admitted it! Pros: Leaving Cons: Everything was bad more
