Kids city is a great place for kids. Not only is it fun for them but it is also educational. They have free parking which is a bonus. I know that when I bring my kids here that they will come out learning something new. The price of admission is so cheap as well! There are exhibit for toddlers and younger kids and their parents to explore. Great way to spend a Saturday afternoon!

The TMA a great place for kids of any age. The stuff for toddlers all the way up. Very open spaces, hands on, colorful and inviting, this museum has a lot to offer. My kids especially like the bubble tank and the dress up areas but there is so much to do, I'm sure you will find something for everyone in your family. Not a cheap day but I suggest skipping the attached McDonald's and bringing a lunch. Lots a space outside to sit and picnic right by the river.

More
I've been to MOSI three times now. Once with my wife, once with my 10 year old neice and now to the Bodies Exhibition with some friends visiting town for Labor Day. Each experience was a little different, and I found all had their own pluses and minuses. The latest experience was the worst. It's quite apparent that all MOSI had on their mind for Labor Day weekend and probably for any Special Engagement is money. The Bodies Exhibition, while very educational and interesting, was so ridiculously crowded, you could not see, read or appreciate the exhibit without being pushed or behind one or two rows at each display. There must have been hundreds of people packed into the narrow hallways and around the tightly placed displays. We bought our tickets ahead of time for a Sunday 10:45 am engagement and still had to wait in the "will call/already have tickets" line for over an hour. The time printed on the ticket ment nothing to the ticket takers, and they didn't seem very well organized.
Seriously, shouldn't MOSI limit the amount of people in the small display area? Why else would you section off time blocks? I highly doubt we could have ever passed a fire inspection the way it was packed in. They should seriously review their 'capacity policy' for these special events. At $20 - $30 a ticket, they should be able to afford less people per time block for a better viewing experience.
With the exception of the above, there are some real pluses to the rest of MOSI. The IMAX theater is absolutely terrific, and while the regular interactive activities and displays are great fun for the kids, adults may get little educational stimulation from them.
All in all, if you have kids, MOSI is worth your money for just the regular displays and IMAX. If you want to see a special engagement, get tickets ahead of time and be there before 9am on a weekday/non-holiday as there is clearly no joy in viewing them otherwise.
Pros: IMAX Theater, Children's interactive displays
Cons: Special Event Organization, Display maintenance

More
The Henry B. Plant Museum interprets the turn-of-the-century Tampa Bay Hotel and the lifestyles of America's Gilded Age. Critical to the success of this mission is the restoration and preservation of this National Historic Landmark, an opulent 1891 railroad resort, and the artifacts significant to its history and the life and work of Henry Bradley Plant. Through educational exhibits and events, the museum transports visitors of all ages and backgrounds to the late Victorian period, the beginnings of Florida's tourist industry, and the early years of the city of Tampa. This quintessential Victorian palace features unique Moorish revival architecture, opulent European furniture and art treasures of the original railroad resort. The past will delight you at the Henry B. Plant Museum.
Free on-street parking is available in front of the museum or in the parking garage two blocks away at the corner of North Boulevard and North "B" Street. The museum is fully accessible.
View a map to the Museum.
Hours
The Henry B. Plant Museum and the Museum Store are open Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, 12 Noon to 4 p.m. Closed Mondays, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. In addition, the museum will be closed November 21-23, 2005.
Admission

We recently had 2 oriental carpets repaired and cleaned at this business. We had to follow up/call several times to find out the status of this work. When told that the carpets were ready we went there and examined them but clearly the work had not been completely done. So, we left them there and again, nobody called and we had to follow up. Finally got our carpets back. I am really not sure about the quality of the work done and whether or not we were taken to the cleaners - bg . Yes, the ends received new fringes and the sides were stitched up (after pointing out that it had not been done the first time) but the repair of several moth holes was not what I would have expected nor am I sure the carpet really did get cleaned completely as there still appears to be some dirt on the back of the carpet.
Seems to be very expensive and we would certainly not recommend this establishment. The problem is that there are not too many businesses in the Tampa area that deal with oriental carpets, so, we are in a quandary. But it appears to me that this company is taking advantage of its position.
