God complex, greedy & does NOT know what he is doing! 2/13/2012

This man should be taken out of the profession. I believe, after seeing him for approximately 18 months, that he went into it simply for the ego of it all, the control, the God complex. He is very cold, completing uncaring, and I honestly wonder how many of his patients have not made it through depression due to this. I am still recovering from my experience with him, which was 2 years ago. He is twisted and, if one were to take the time to look into his background, one would find that he isn't even board certified (I believe his web site claims he is) and is lacking in a number of credentials. He is making money hand over fist for getting off on people's problems, at the cost of the patient. more

Perceptive, Creative & Gifted in NLP metaphor 3/11/2011

If you are looking for someone gifted in neuro-linguistic programming therapy, this is the one. His gift with metaphoric dialogues leads people to new perceptions and feelings about their issues. He is very difficult to get in to see now and booked well into advance. One of the few therapists that I believe have been well trained and that are gifted in the field.... also one of the few psychiatrists that I've felt weren't taking the drugs they prescribe for others... more

He's made a hard time manageable, and put up with a lot of grief from me... 7/28/2008

Dr H has saved me. Although he comes across as rather an intellectual and not the ""cozy"" type of therapist I've had in the past, he is amazing at what he does and uses almost an eastern philosophy when giving advice. He has given me points of logic which, for the first time in my career as a patient for anxiety and depression, I have actually kept a journal of. They are almost mantras to me now. Dr H has a way of making you not take things as seriously as you are at the moment, stepping back and realizing how you've spun something into something it may not actually be. He has a great, dry sense of humor. He's also great to talk you thru stuff on the phone when you can't make it in. After 20 yrs of therapy and almost as many therapists, he has been the best I've had. This being said, I'm only giving him 4 stars cause I want him to be able to fit me in for appts still... Pros: he's good at what he does!!! He is extremely smart, funny and interesting to talk to Cons: OK, I've had some issues w med management, ""bedside manner""--not the most ""sensitive"" guy I've met more
