My family grew up in NYC and a family friend, Paul Probetsky, was one of the bakers at Junior's, the renowned cheesecake shop which, at the time, had a single location in Brooklyn. For 40 years my parents measured every cheesecake against Junior's . . . and every one, no matter how creamy or delicious, just didn't quite match up . . . until I surprised them on their recent trip to Atlanta with Gerald's cheesecake. They were blown away by the creamy texture, the burst of ricotta that greeted each bite, and the deliriously perfect graham cracker crust. It's simply phenomenal and Gerlad is a fantastic person, easy to deal with and immensely accommodating.
