I was very pleased with the treatment my dog received here. He had injured a leg and couldn't put weight on it and I was in a panic. I had brought a dog here many years ago after ...

We are so grateful for the expertise and excellent care they received at Emerald City Emergency Clinic from Dr. Teri Weronko, Tara, and the rest of the staff. We are relieved to have them back home and recovering. more

Tonight was my third visit to this place. Every time I have went I have received great care for my pets. This small, humble emergency room has given my pets much better care than either of the two upscale (also double the cost) other emergency clinics here in Seattle. \r \r Every time I have been in with a sick pet the vet always have me different care options and throughly explained what was wrong. They have always gone above and beyond for my pets. \r Even when what my dog needed was way out of my price range for emergency surgery, they did every thing they could to send her home with all the medications & painkillers he would need until he could see my regular bet the next morning. All of the vet techs I have met here work well under pressure and although don't spend a lot of time in idle chitchat with you (remember, emergency room) they're friendly and helpful. \r \r After visiting other emergency rooms in the Seattle area Over the past few years, I HIGHLY recommend this small humble pet emergency room! They will care for your pet, be upfront and honest about prices and wait times, and more importantly bring your furry friends back to great health. more

Took my little guy there tonight, they were great and it is the only emergency vet I will use. I thought he had broken his leg, they informed me he was fine and just some rest and love was all he needed. more

Let's see if I can get through this without crying. On Thursday April 20th our dog was horrifically ill and dying and this beautiful team of nurturing, compassionate, gentle and wonderful people took such good care of her that I swear today she was sad to leave them. She was at Emerald City for 3 nights and we received clear communication from beginning to end. We asked millions of questions and all of them were answered patiently and with articulate explanation at any and all hours of the day or night. We were able to visit every day, twice a day, and every time we stepped in the door we were greeted with transparency, kindness and positive attitudes. They saved my dogs life and we love them for that. Especially our dog - she was givin' out kisses to anyone in a pair of scrubs! Thank you forever and ever and ever and ever. I hope we never see you again. more

We were very worried about our dog. Our regular vet was closed and this office was nearby and was an emergency vet only. Rachel at the front desk was professional and thorough, as was the vet. Dr. Corrigan. If they did regular vet care, I would switch to them! It was expensive, but they were able to do all the lab work, and xray work there. They medicated our dog so she would be out of pain. They went over exactly what the costs were and what the range was. We were very comfortable with them. I would definitely use them if we ever have any emergency again! more

It was a Sunday, and our vet was not open. We found this clinic online and called. They told us we could bring our dog in right away. My husband said that as painful as it was to put our dog to sleep, the vet and vet tech (who kissed our dog's head as he was put to sleep) were very comforting and understanding. WE knew that our poor dog was dying, but our regular vet convinced us to buy another $200 in medicine for no good reason. We're grateful that this place helped us and trusted us to know that WE, as his family, knew that he was suffering. more

I had an overall good experience here. I took my cat in late one night because he had been vomiting for hours. Despite being very busy, they took my cat in, gave him an anti-nausea shot, and hydrated him under his skin. After they were able to examine him, they told me that there didn't appear to be anything wrong; they could continue running tests, or I could take him to my regular vet the following day. I did not feel pressured to stay and keep spending money, and I appreciated their bedside manner. I spent $200 for their services. Cat turned out to be fine- I didn't need a follow up. \r \r The doctor and the person who checked us out were very friendly and professional. Everything was good, they were of great comfort when my cat was super sick, and I'm glad I took him there. more

I have had a few emergencies with my mini pigs, not many vets see mini pigs on a regular basis let alone an emergency. I am so impressed with the time, love and care put in to make them and myself feel comfortable while figuring out what the problem was. Could not ask for a better experience. Thank you! more

I recently took my dog here as I suspected he had ingested something and was afraid it was going to block his stomach. I received great, prompt care and yes it is expensive but it's an emergency room. If you have pet insurance it should cover it and my coverage was able to take care of 90% of the cost but if you don't have pet insurance, be prepared to pay out of pocket. Point is ER care for your animal is expensive regardless of where you go and sometimes when push comes to shove you don't have the time to google least-expensive animal ERs in your area, so best you get pet insurance. \r \r Also yes they do take your animals to the back room and won't let you come in. I think what most pet parents don't realize is that your dogs act up more when their pets parent are around them. I was more than glad to have them take my boy in the back since I know I contribute to his anxiety and stress level in past vet visits due to my nervous energy! Dogs are perceptive animals if you are anxious they pick up on that and manifest it too. more

This hospital saved my dogs life! Our labradoodle came on with sudden canine bloat, I brought her right in and they recognized it immediately for how severe it was and rushed her into surgery! It was an extremely scary situation but they were excellent and she was able to come home 24 hours later because of the exemplary job done by the vets and vet techs. They were very thorough in going through the cost of everything and making sure we had all the resources we needed to be able to pay! She is doing great, I think the hardest part is going to be keeping her energy level down while she recovers! more

I am INCREDIBLY impressed with Emerald City Emergency Clinic!!! Today I encountered a gravely injured pigeon who kept walking up to strangers, and was truly suffering. I called two vets nearby, one of which had even treated my OWN pets, and both refused to humanely euthanize the suffering bird. \r \r I called Emerald City Emergency Clinic, and the receptionist immediately said she would ask the vet if they could help while I waited on the phone. She said they absolutely could euthanize the bird, so I put him in a box and took him to the clinic.\r \r When I walked in, I was greeted by an INCREDIBLY friendly, kind and compassionate staff member who took the bird to the back. The vet agreed that euthanasia was best, and they humanely euthanized the pigeon.\r \r THIS is the mark of true compassion in veterinary medicine. When two other local clinics blatantly refused to help me in this situation, Emerald City stepped up to the plate. The core of veterinary medicine is to help animals who are suffering, and what I experienced today with Emerald City was compassion in it's truest form. \r \r I will be speaking with Emerald City again soon to see if I can start to take my own pets there for care in the future, as the people who helped me there today are TRUE angels to animals, even animals that most people won't even take a second look at. more

Emergency vet care is always an unexpected and sometimes great cost, but I never felt pressured in making any decisions. I'm so thankful we ended up at Emerald City. I could not have hoped for a better experience. more

Dr. Foley was exceptional. She explained everything in detail, went over every test, and potential cost, and helped me make informed care decisions. She did so with kindness, and a better bedside manner than any Dr. I've ever met. more

Editorial review from Citysearch 1/12/2017

The first time I spoke with the vet, she listed 3 possible reasons for my cat's ailment, and listed the two she thought were most important to test right now. And, by the way, she did not recommend the most expensive test, unless the other two were inconclusive. She asked me if I was OK with the first two tests after I was able to look at the cost, and I agreed to have them done. This helped me get a feel (and a bit of a say) for how much I was going to have to pay for the intake, diagnosis, and preliminary treatment (hydration), which I appreciated. When I went in I wasn't sure whether I'd be paying $500 or $5,000, but now I could safely assume it would be in the $500 range. more

Editorial review from Citysearch 1/5/2017

I didn't think there was anything wrong with the way my cat (and I) were treated. The receptionist went through a list of questions for me and listened to my answers carefully. I know she was paying attention because the diagnosis/treatment papers that I was later given listed every detail that I described, even the somewhat irrelevant details that I was babbling at one in the morning. more

Editorial review from Citysearch 12/22/2016

I was neither shocked nor bothered by the price tag, which was around $415. Heck, a routine visit to the gynecologist costs me $200 (or would, if I didn't have health insurance) - why should I expect emergency services for my cat to be in any way cheap? When I think ""emergency room"" I think possibly $1,000's spent... more

Editorial review from Citysearch 12/15/2016

The receptionist/assistant was friendly and warm but mostly down to business, especially during intake; the doctor was not really one for small talk or warm fuzzies. This did not bother me and I didn't feel like I was rudely treated. I really don't care about my (or my pet's) doctor's work personality as long as s/he is intelligent, conscientious, and technically competent, and I don't understand why some of the reviewers are upset that the doctor didn't act like Oprah or their best friend. This is an emergency clinic, not a day spa... more
