I don't even know where to begin with this place. Out of all the shops in Seattle, me and my gf chose this crap hole. \r \r First off, we went in and they seemd "OK", and somewhat knowledgeable. All we needed was upgraded brakes for a bike we had just bought for my gf. We pre paid. That was about the ONLY part that was not annoying about this place. \r \r It took nearly two weeks for the part to get in, which OK might be legit, BUT, they NEVER called us when it came in, we had to keep calling in over and over, and on top of that, the times we did call, they NEVER remembered us, and the first time we called he said "I can't find the papers". Like seriously? We pre pay a good amount of money and you LOSE the papers? \r \r The parts finally got in and so we take the bike in and drop it off on a Monday. The guy can't even tell us when it'll be started to be worked on or even an estimated completion day/time, he couldn't even tell us who would be working on it. We NEVER hear ANYTHING about it, as more

I had recently moved to Seattle and lost the faceplate to secure my handlebars. I brought my bike in and one of the senior guys there replaced my handlebars and all on the spot and charged $35 total. I was pleased.\r \r I came back and wanted my fork repaired. My shocks were also broken from the move, and now that I was biking more I didn't want to 'just live with it'. I came in, said I wanted a cheap rigid fork, and a different one of their senior guys had it ordered for me.\r \r I was phoned and came back a week later, but the fork was threaded; incompatible with my bike. The fork was also not compensated for shocks; that is, a normal rigid fork sits much lower than a shock-compensated rigid fork, so if I'd use this fork, I'd be leaning far forward.\r \r Anyways, a new guy was helping me this time, and wanted me to order a $140 fork with shocks that I didn't really want, but I figured hey, I'd rather be riding sooner than later, so let's just do it. I had also come in near closing time, so more

Condescending, Expensive, and Uninformed 7/5/2007

I took a recently purchased used bike to EBB for assessment and a potential tune-up. The guy who came to my assistance spent no time inspecting or testing the bike. Instead, after I told him it had spent a few years in an enclosed porch, he told me I needed to spend $300 on a complete tune-up and new tires (which he quoted as costing $30 each --- I've seen good tires priced at half that). He made it sound as if I was a fool for having purchased the bike because it needed so much work. I pointed out that the price of the bike with the cost of their tune-up/services would almost equal the price of an entry-level mountain bike (which is all I'm after). In response, the EBB employee quipped that their lowest priced bikes started at $800. Um, OK. Pros: Downtown Location Cons: Expensive, Snobby, Parking, Uninterested in Customers Specific Needs more
