Best

This tire place is decent, I bought 2 sets of tires over 3 years with this store, and im always looking for a deal, last time i bought a set of used tires for my toyota and got it...

Worst

Unfair for the qualified mechanics (Who are not the favorites) employed @ Elliott Tire & Services in Ballard. I went in not to long ago to get new tires... Ended up getting new ...

Honest Shop 10/3/2009

I Was told by by another shop that the grinding in my brakes were metal to metal I wanted another opinion schwab wanted over $600.00 to fix them and told me I should not drive the car. I had Elliott svc comp at Elliott ave Check my brakes and was expecting to have to do my brakes. But to my suprise I was told that there was a rock cought up in my brake rotor witch they removed at nc and told me that I still had aprox 40% life left. I know who will do the brakes when I do need them. Thanks for being honest. I will be back thanks kate more

Obvious 10/3/2009

Its pretty obvious that Elliott Tire employees are attacking the ratings here. every time someone posts a single bad review 3-4 five star reviews pop up hat say something simple like good quality work. I never see this with other reviews. These guys are scammers, even the state testing facilities said they have so many people come back failed after going to elliott for service, even after spending hundreds to try and fix. These people do not know what hey are doing and use old equipment that doesn't work. Stay away more

*!!!! STAY AWAY !!!!* 8/5/2009

!!!!!! STAY AWAY !!!!!! If i could give this place negative stars, I would. I've never had a worse experience with a mechanic shop in my life! Our car was stalling so we took it in. First of they charged $145 for the diagnostic, and it took them 2 days to even look at the car. Then all they recommend was a tune up. (They wanted to charge $700! for a frickin tune up) then, they said after that they could do another diagnostic if that didnt fix it. What a total CROCK! We had a family friend take a look at the car and within 5 minutes he found the problem and fixed it. And he said that the car was not even in need of a tune up. So hey, if you're looking to throw your money away, please go to Elliott tire and service. or heck you can just give me $150 and i'll kick your tires and tell you that you need a tune up. more

Don't go to this shop for wheel/tire work, go to Costco or Discount Tire 5/11/2009

I have had several bad experiences with this West Seattle Goodyear, all pertaining to tires. Aren't they supposed to be a tire shop? They have been unable to balance some of my wheels despite Costco being able to properly balance my wheels without a problem. They have also put my directional tires on backwards, put the tires on the wrong wheels (front and back wheels are difference widths), and the worst is they've used cheap tire valves that split and leave me stranded with a flat. I've had multiple wheels on different cars develop this splitting valve problem and in the latest circumstance they refused to replace the valve without charging me a few bucks. I don't care how cheap this work is, I won't pay these guys another cent. They are worthless as a tire shop and it's a bummer to see them still in business (and I don’t want to see any West Seattle business go out). I can't comment from experience on their mechanical abilities, but I would NEVER take a car to this shop for ANY work. more

Excellent 5/6/2009

Not sure what the others have stuck in their craw. I have dealt with them many times. Courteous, fair, knowledgable. I wonder if some of the others come from a disgrunteled competitor and the rest of their friends and family. Something don't add up if you have esveral 5 star ratings, and the rest 1 star. Hmmm? more

SCAMMERS!! 4/9/2009

Scammed me out of a grand! Didn't fix what they said they would and caused my car more problems! Don't go there unless you want to loose some $$! more

Great tire Store 11/18/2008

Last week I had new run-flat tires installed on my Lexus SC-430 at Elliott Tire & Service located on Elliott Ave W in Seattle. I took the advice of a service writer named Justin. My prior tires were very rough riding so I followed the advice given by Justin and I now have a vehicle that rides like a dream. They did the job right the first time and charged me a fair price. I will definitely return to this store and adviser for future service. more

Don't go to unless you enjoy getting ripped off! 9/17/2008

What a bunch of con artists! If I were a mechanic, I would hate to work at this place! They ended up replacing my upper and radiator hoses and fuel filter, when I originally went in for a brake job. I asked them to keep the hoses. Upon inspection, the hoses were replaced for no good reason! NOTHING wrong with them. I checked with Honda and found out that their fuel filters are canisters and have a lifetime warranty for the car. So why did Elliot tires do all of this unnecessary work?! They use scare more

Me too- lower then 1 star 4/4/2008

Woodinville location: We've taken our cars to elliotts a number of times, due to locality of shop. Car #1, The first visit they drastically underestimated the time it took for the repair because they weren't experienced with it. They didn't charge us the extra time but didn't put everything back together properly because they were rushed. Car #2, our second visit there cost us $2000 in major engine repairs. We didn't question the diagnosis because it was only our 2nd visit there and we had it repaired. Car #1, the third visit, we were diagnosed $600 repair on our older car. We didn't think it sounded right or that they really knew what they were talking about, so we drove our car to it's regular mechanic, which is out of the area. It wasn't anything what Elliotts diagnosed it as, it was a $200 fix, which our mechanic diagnosed immediately and fixed. We started to wonder about Elliotts experience. Car #2 back in to the shop, coolant leak, hose needed to be replaced. Once again they drastically underestimated the time to replace it due to inexperience. The repair was suppose to be out within one day and they had it for 2 full days. I stopped by to pick up car seats, the car was parked in back, hood up. When I opened the door, the smell of burning rubber hit me. I took the seats & left. They called me when the repairs were done, asking when a check engine light had come on. I said it wasn't on before the car was there. They figured it out, a hose back on wrong & returned the car to me, which now smelled of antifreeze for weeks afterwards. When I returned the next day due to something that wasn't fixed right and asked about the smell, they said antifreeze had been sprayed everywhere and the smell would go away. That was it. Our car started having an oi leak the other day, we opened up the hood and it is covered with what looks like white sulfer, the tape arounda hose was eaten away, bolts on several hoses were not put back together. we took it to another mechanic we used to use and he said there had been a fire in the engine, probably disconnected a fuel hose accidentally and the white residue was from the fire extinguisher. They didn't even tell us about it and we're driving our chldren around in this vehicle. We now question whether they properly diagnosed the vehicle for the $2K repair and it's apparent they are misdiagnosing repairs. They had also diagnosed a power steering problem with a $600 fix but after the last visit, when the fire occured, the car came home mysteriously not making the awful noise any longer. This is a 2001 car, not an old dinasour so it's not a fall apart vehicle. Needless to say, we will not be back and don't feel like they are trustworthy. more
