Good Indian food. I love this place. They're always welcoming and I've never been disappointed. Eat in or carry out - both are good. Serving sizes are reasonable. Prices are not too expensive. My favorite dish is the Chicken Vindaloo. Yum! more

I rarely give a 5 but WOW! Their naans were very very good, especially the shrimp naan. The cheese and potato naan are delicious as well. As for the entree I had the Vindaloo Curry Shrimp Entree, and again - AMAZING! If you like Indian and spicy foods, this is definitely a place you should try. Oh and their veggie samosas are great too. more

Really really good!! The food was tasty, we ordered the cheese Nan bread as an appetizer, that really hit the spot. The food had the perfect amount of flavor and spice, I went medium and it was delicious!! I would reccommend and come back! more

Great Food, Excellent Spices 3/25/2009

I have been eating at this restaurant for both take out and dinning in for three years. Finally got around to this review. I have always loved their safron rice and chicken tikka masala. If you order it spicy, I'm warning you! I live their cheese and garlic nan as well. Pros: Best Chicken Tikka Masala Ever Cons: Small Seating area more

Good food for the price 11/10/2007

I thought the food was pretty good. They had some dishes that I couldn't find elsewhere and were off the menu. The service was very good and very prompt. I thought it was a good experience. A nice restaurant in the area. Not the best place I've been to, but I'd go back. Especially around lunch time--they have specials for under $5 Pros: Good service, tasty food Cons: Not the nicest ambiance, more of a lunch place more

DISAPPOINTING... AT BEST!! 2/24/2007

I ordered from this restaurant after reading mixed reviews, giving it the benefit of the doubt. Although my friend determined the ingredients used were not stale, the food was below average for Indian cuisine. After placing my order to be extra spicy, I received the most bland Indian food I have tasted to date--- and this is my favorite type of food. It didn't taste BAD, it was just so unremarkable. And bland. And disappointing. I just wanted a really good take away! Pros: food was warm (delivery) Cons: B-L-A-N-D more

Very, very bland. Not authentic at all 2/1/2007

I went in with high hopes and was very dissapointed. The chicken tasted as though they had taken just plain chicken and poured the sauce over it instead of cooking the chicken in the sauce which gives the meat it's flavor. \r \r Would definitely tell people to stay far, far away if they want a meal with any flavor. Pros: quick delivery Cons: The food, the food, the food...and the food more

Great indian for a great price. A lovely neighborhood hang-out. 12/30/2006

I love this place! The staff is very friendly. The food is wonderful and the price is great. When we're in doubt of where to go, we end up here. The sag paneer is tasty and their naans are the best in town. Our weakness is the onion pakora appetizer. YUM! We love the open kitchen. One thing you have to try is the tomato soup. The combination of spices is delicious and soothing if you feel a cold coming. If you're dining there at the right time, check out the Jack Rutberg Gallery a couple of doors down. Some of the finest art is in this lovely gallery. Pros: Something for everyone and will adjust the spices to your taste. Cons: Wish they had fruit juice drink choice more

The Best Indian Food in LA 10/31/2006

I love this place! Service is super friendly and I always get my favorite, the Chicken Tikki Masala. Perfect for a quick meal or a large gathering -- go you, won't be disapointed! Pros: Great food, super friendly staff. more

This place is AWESOME! 10/23/2006

Why all the complaints? I have had nothing but GREAT service and AMAZING food in this restaurant... I have been coming to this restaurant for five years now and their staff is WONDERFUL and always courteous. My favorite is the chicken wings! Pros: Food, parking, great service Cons: You might walk out with a smile and a food coma (you'll eat a lot of their food) more

Fabulous Fabulous Fabulous! 10/5/2006

My husband & I love this place. The lovely waitstaff always recognizes us - & often sends us a free dessert. The curries & chicken tikka are wonderful. Also wonderful is the calamari - they put their own spin on it & it is not to be missed. We also love the atmosphere - very cozy & inviting. We have NEVER had a problem with slow service. If you go for lunch, the lunch specials are extremely reasonable. And frankly dinner isn't much more. Go & enjoy yourself! Pros: Attentive service, nice atmosphere, great food Cons: ??? more

Incredible! Those lookin for great indian food delivered READ!!! 8/8/2006

I'm one of those real fussy eaters... I'm always eating out in BH and when it comes to indian food, there's only 2 other places in this city I'll eat it at... I've driven by this restaurant plenty of times, though never ate there (it's always looked great from the outside). \r I can say, the chicken pakora is probably the best chicken pakora i've ever had. Yes, I've eaten plenty of indian food all over (including the UK)... The Chicken Tika Masala had a good amount of sauce/gravy and I like it as well... The samosa's worked for me and have great flavor. The naan, just like any other, which is good cause i'm not one for suprises! :-)\r Great mango chutney, and i have to say... I am real happy that I ordered in! \r I will stress again to those who are as fussy as me, I'm extremely happy... I will order again... And me... I'm close to gower, so they delivered here and pretty quick for distance (like 40 mins)... \r High recommends!!!!(Little pricey for indian food, but generous portions)! Again... VERY HAPPY!!!!\r Pros: Great food! Delivery prompt! Cons: Didnt get a menu from delivery person for next time... Little pricey for indian food... more

Yummy! 7/14/2006

East India Grill is REALLy good, and the service is so friendly you practically feel like family. I've eaten in and also had the food delivered, and was really happy with the service both ways. The Eggplant Bharta is a must try. It's out of control. Pros: Yummy, yummy, yummy! Cons: It's so good you might just overeat. more

A poor choice for delivery 5/6/2006

Wow, what a disappointment. My food arrived almost an hour late and the owner refused to let me cancel the order. The $13 house curry did not include rice although the sauce was flavorful and the spice level perfect. The samosa's are definitely hearty, but absolutely flavorless. The nan disappointing although it may have been better warm.. Though the restaurant failed to include a menu per my request, I'm not bothered as I have no intention of ordering from them again. Pros: delivery available Cons: poor service, mediocre food, poor value more

love this place 3/23/2006

the food is excellent. dine in and out on a regular basis and have always been very impressed. more
