Dorfman Property Management

I moved into a sparkling clean home last year, assisted by a helpful leasing agent. Although I had some initial repair requests, somebody called me back quickly and my repairs were taken care of. So far the best landlord I've ever had and I have had some BAD ones!!! more

We rented from Dorfman and during the time we lived in our house, we had so many problems with the electrical and plumbing. They left my 6 month pregnant fiance without water for 3 days because they wouldn't fix the plumbing problem. Also, the electrical outlets didn't work in half the house when we moved in. The landlord re-wired the house (said it was a fire hazard) and now taking us to court for the electrical damage. On the last month of our lease, we told them we would pay the rent 1 week late and would pay the late fee, so they issued an eviction notice and are trying to take us to court for all kinds of damages that were not even wrong with the house when we moved out! Dorfman Properties are money hungry, liars and will take you to court for what they messed up and you will never get your deposit back from them Cons: they will con you more

Just make sure you do your homework on everything involved and read over the lease first as this will help you down the line..... Pros: Friendly staff more

My husband and I lived in a property managed by this company for 2 years. We were very good tenants and paid our rent 6 months in advance. However, when we left and the time came for them to return our deposit, they created a lot of fees so that we would only receive half of our deposit back. I wouldn't be so upset if I thought that the fees were valid, however they charged us for things that we had already done (i.e. housekeeping fees). We spent 2-3 days after everything was moved out cleaning making sure everything was spotless! Beware of this property management group. They truly are after your money! more

I have no doubt that Dorfman Property management is OK from an owners' point of view (I really can't say), but as a potential tenant I was very disappointed. When I was contacted about seeing a property I had expressed interest in, the representative was very inflexible as to when she could show the property and was rather ""snooty"" in general. It was my impression that transactions with this company are at THEIR convenience. If they have this attitude BEFORE you sign a lease, how much more so will it be AFTER you sign? I didn't even bother to look at this property and when I came across one of their listings after the fact, I immediately ruled it out. You would think that with the ""high end"" properties that I was inquiring about DPM would provide adequate customer service. Cons: customer service, attitude more
