My husband and I lived in a one-bedroom apartment in the Masters for a year. Our favorite parts of the apartments were the cathedral ceilings from living on the second floor, the included washer and dryer (not full size), and the screened-in porch. The location is very convenient to Castleton and Fishers. The price is about average for that area of town. The office was always quick to answer maintenance calls and we never had any trouble there!

I lived in a one-bedroom in Hickory Place in 2004. I found the neighborhood to be so-so; I didn't always feel safe around the other tenants. The rent was on the low side for this part of Indianapolis, so I think some of lower-income tenants made Hickory Place home. Benefits are easy access to I-69 and shopping in Castleton. The apartments also include a full-size washer and dryer. For a short-term living it was OK, but I wouldn't want to live there for a long time. They also offer two-bedrooms and townhouses.

They helped us buy our first home, and we have recommended them to several friends. They are an excellent team...they can help you see all the angles in potential houses (as parents, as a guy, as a woman)...they helped us find our home and it's nowhere near their own home/office, but they made sure they took the time to get to know the neighborhoods in which we were looking.

Are you afraid of Real Estate agents? Many of them are either pushy women with big hair and acrylic nails, or arrogant men who are too busy to return your calls. When I bought my house, I found a realtor who is low-key, professional, and made the whole process of buying a house as fun and painless as possible. I worked with Sussan O'Brien at Century 21 At the Crossing, and found her to be honest and completely pleasant to deal with. She always answered my e-mails and phone calls promptly and completely. She kept after me to do all the things I had to do to get ready for closing, but in a way that wasn't pushy or annoying. I plan on staying in my new home for quite a while, but if I ever needed a realtor again, I'd call Sussan.

Me and my wife spoke with Ryan from Place to Live Rentals- we made an appointment to drive from dayton ohio to Indy to look at a house on Tremont at 1030 in the norning. Not only did nobody show up after a half an hour of sitting in the rain, but nobody even bothered to return our calls or set up another time with us. I wouldn't spend a lot of time with a company that can't even show up for the initial showing. Good luck elsewhere!
