We had a girl's weekend in Indianapolis. We took the 5 & 9 yr old. It was great and even us adults had a good time. The group interactions were great. The haunted house was worth the $6.50. The only con would be at the haunted house. There was a recorded voice for the scary haunted house. It said "flight 666 is now boarding", I thought that was crossing the line. But besides, it was great
Pros: Very fun, friendly and enticing.
Cons: None!

I recently was a parent chaperone on a 3rd graders' trip here. We also went to the Children's Museum, and I liked the Eiteljorg much more. The kids went through the Children's Museum at a slow run and I felt they learned little, but here we had an excellent guide who explained the various Indian artifacts to us and really made them interesting. This is a true museum and you mainly look, not touch. I don't know that it would have been so meaningful to me on my own, but the tour guide really made it an excellent visit. I'd definitely go with a guided tour.

Wow, the childrens museum is a great fun time for everyone! The 1st Thursday of every month is free for family fun! Who can't afford that, and they have a mcdonalds, pizza hut and some more food inside. The gift shop can be pricey, so make sure you have a buget to spend to remember your trip to the muesem.

The antique Morris-Butler house, located on the near north side of Indianapolis, provides a look back to life near the turn of the last century. The home is lavishly and beautifully furnished, featuring the wonderful Victorian-era decor of the day. The tourguides are extremely knowledgeable, and provide an entertaining tour for all ages. Especially interesting is the fourth-floor tower, which provides a very nice view of the surrounding area.

More
Located in the basement below the Soldiers' and Sailors' monument, this museum is perfect for any Civil War buff - casual or advanced. The artifacts are preserved just as they might have been on the battlefield over a century ago. There are cannons, cases with guns and other weapons, and miscellaneous other items. The museum is not very large, but showcases some great history. Parking can be a challenge, due to congestion on Monument Circle.

The IMAX theater is great. It has a large flat screen and the digital surround sound. The theater is also clean and it is a great deal of fun. They had a snack bar and the prices were about the same as the other movie theaters. The admission fee is also reasonable. They do not accept passes or any coupons. You can also buy a package that includes the entry ticket for the museum which is also a great place for kids.
