Best

I have been going to Doc Chey's for years and I absolutely love, love, LOVE the Chicken Massaman! I also love all their tasty appetizers - especially the edamame and shrimp rolls...

Worst

Totally unremarkable and uninteresting. Typical mediocre American style noodle food. I guess the appeal is the super-sized portions? As if we need to consume more empty calorie...

Oodles of Noodles 8/25/2002

Loved the noodles and salad sitting outside overlooking the main drag. more

my comfort food 8/6/2002

It is like eating at a friends home- comfortable atmosphere. Large portions, always good food. I am addicted to the basil rolls and shrimp rolls. Cheap, a place we frequent. Pros: great food, large portions, inexpensive Cons: sometimes loud more

Fresh and Healthy! 8/3/2002

A neighorhood jewell that has everything you could want, for a relaxed, scrumptious meal! The atmosphere is laid-back and the food is obviously well prepared. The char-grilled chicken used in making many of the dishes is homemade delicious. Lots of vegetarian choices. The bright, colorful, fresh vegetables make each plate an appetizing adventure. Move over eggplant parmigan. You haven't had eggplant until you've tried the eggplant in garlc sauce at Doc Chey's. Bravo! I'll be back! Pros: reasonably priced, fresh veggies Cons: floor more

Why go fast food. There's Doc Chey's! 8/2/2002

Next time you think of eating somewhere cheap, think of Doc Chey's. You can get out of there in five minutes for around 5 bucks! And eat healthier too! I like the Vietnamese Iced Coffee before I go to the park. It's better than anything at Starbucks. Try all the dim sum. And definitely the Pho soup--it's gourmet oodles of noodles. Pros: soups travel btw Cons: none really more

tasty, healthy, fast, & inexpensive 8/2/2002

Doc Chey's is ideal when one craves something tasty;prefers healthy, ethnic food; has little time; and emulates Clark Howard's financial management practices. more

Somebody gets it! 7/29/2002

Finally someone understands that no one cares what you wear to dinner or who sees you sipping your martini. All that's important is good food and good service. As a New Yorker who thinks you guys are just trying to hard, I think Doc Chey's has the right focus. Pros: good food, quick service more

Totally Tasteless Food 7/25/2002

Worst food I've had in a while. The food had literally no flavor whatsoever, both times I went. I ordered the Tom Kha Coconut soup (or their version of it) and the Miso Soup. I tried to put a lot of salt in it, but it still tasted like water. I'm not sure if this place is *supposed* to be authentic - it's pure crap and overpriced, too - you get much better Vietnamese, Thai, or Chinese food on Buford Highway. My bf's dish (the Red Curry) was also nasty tasting, although it did have a noticeable *flavor*. Pros: the area Cons: the food, overpriced, not authentic at all more

Kids love ""the noodle place"" 7/19/2002

We've been going to Doc Chey's for over 2 years and love it! (We drive in from Gwinnett.) My boys, ages 2 and 5, eat well there and love going. The service is great! My 5 year-old's favorite waiter is the tall guy with glasses who always rigs up the chopsticks for him. (Is his name Kevin, maybe?) Also, don't miss What's the Scoop and Alon's around the corner for gelato and cookies! Pros: price, location, service Cons: crowded dining area more

Cheap and Great Eats! 7/18/2002

This place is great!!! You don't have to dress to impress....Would recommend this place........ more

Good Choice!! 7/16/2002

Not a huge menu, but everything on it is well thought out & excellent. Very fresh, nice contrasts on my palate!! Very inexpensive!!! I took my Mom there & she loved it!! The Emory location has only walk-up, stand in line to order service, but it moved rapidly. The basil rolls & chinese chicken soup are off the chain!!!!!! Highly recommended! Pros: great food, VALUE!!!!! Cons: ????? more

hang out 5/21/2002

This is great place to go to hang out with friend while sitting outside, have a good meal (generous portions) and not pay a heafty price. Be sure to try the spring rolls more

Cheap Noodles 5/20/2002

Sure, it isn't the best food ever, but for the price, it's tough to beat. Pad Thai is always solid and you'll have plenty for two meals. Although I can't think of the name of the dish right now, there's a tasty coconut-based noodle bowl that's a nice change of pace. If you're lucky enough to grab a seat, the patio is the way to go. But if you dont want to wait for a table, takeout is always a good option. Pros: cheap Cons: always crowded more
