Best

I have been going to Doc Chey's for years and I absolutely love, love, LOVE the Chicken Massaman! I also love all their tasty appetizers - especially the edamame and shrimp rolls...

Worst

Totally unremarkable and uninteresting. Typical mediocre American style noodle food. I guess the appeal is the super-sized portions? As if we need to consume more empty calorie...

cheap but good eat 2/7/2003

this place is great for the value. service is nice and speedy. the envirnoment is a bit noisy and a bit lacking on the romantic side, but it is a great place to go for a quick bite with friends. another place i could recommend if you like doc chey's is ""Noodles"" in downtown decatur. Noodles is a noodle house also owned by the same person. the noodles there are excellent. Pros: inexpensive, tasty Cons: bad parking, crowded, noisy more

Pedestrian 2/7/2003

Totally unremarkable and uninteresting. Typical mediocre American style noodle food. I guess the appeal is the super-sized portions? As if we need to consume more empty calories and carbohydrates. No thanks. more

Boooooo 1/29/2003

This place is not that good. The food just is average. Nothing special. Pros: pretty cheap Cons: Food not that good more

Is this the best value in Atlanta? 1/21/2003

I have to order something other than the Thai Spicy Basil Chicken. So good, such good service, so cheap. more

Love the Noodles 1/5/2003

The Chicken Noodle Soup is just like mom used to make!!! Make sure to ask for the wontons on the side. more

You are CRAZY-It's GREAT 1/3/2003

I love this place. I could eat there every day. I take all of friends. The Spicy Basil Chicken is to die for and shrimp rolls are excellent. Try the Pad Thai. My kids love the place. Pros: Inexpensive, Large portions Cons: Service at Tables more

Not cheap, not good. 12/9/2002

Pretty pricey for what you get. Slow, inattentive service. mediocre experience, lukewarm food. Feh. Pros: different, noodly, spicy Cons: no parking, crowded, slow more

Never a good meal, RAMEN forgives at 10¢ 12/9/2002

My friends love this place, my coworkers love this place, all of Atlanta loves this place, THEN WHY IS IT THAT THERE IS NOT ONE OUNCE OF TASTE IN ANY ITEM ON THIS MENU ????? At least my dog agrees with me, kicking the dish to the curb. I've been here at least 6 times, each time ordering something new, always giving me it a chance and not once has my taste buds or stomach forgiven me for it. My friends call me up, the say Doc Chey's, I say NO WAYS. SALT !!!! more

this place rocks! 11/26/2002

low key, casual asian food...this isn't your local chinese restaurant...this is very high quality food cooked to order...i totally recommend it for lunch or takeout, especially when the day is nice enough to sit outside (great outside seating). Pros: parking, prices, food Cons: no waiters, crowded more

Campy Americana 11/3/2002

Great Food, but hey cats, i'm sorry to say that it is nothin' but american all the way, dressed up in an asian inspired bowl and atmosphere. It is good, and it is cheap, though certainly not the best cheap eats in town by far!!! more

Reality vs. Perception 10/30/2002

You like it it or not. The fact is the have fresh, made to order food that is fast, cheap and filling. Oh, and they have been in business over 5 years ...Hmmm they must be terrible with thier 45 minute wait at the door. Pros: food, price, quality Cons: loud atmosphere, rude customers, parking more

Oh please 10/28/2002

This place has the worse noodles. The chicken in every noodle dish is dry. The broth is flavorless. And every dish is overpriced. more

Not Good; Not Cheap! 10/26/2002

I agree with the person who said Doc Cheys is not cheap. They charge about 7 or 8 bucks for something that cost about $1.50 to make, if that. The portions are not that generous; not like the noodle soup houses on Buford Highway. And the quality is not good at all. For Virginia Highland, getting any sort of meal for under 10 bucks is rare, and I guess thats the only good thing about Doc Chey's. But to call this authentic asian style noodle bowls is a misrepresentation in the grandest sense. Pros: location, outside seating Cons: quality, price, service more

Wonderful 10/13/2002

The food was incredible. I had the spicy Thai Noodles. Fresh subtle tastes with just the right amount of spicy-heat. Portions were large, incredibly good and the price was very reasonable. The service was fast, efficient and the waitress staff was very knowledgable and helpful about the menu items It was almost like being in Thailand again, very very authentic. Steve Baker Carrollton, Ga. Pros: Tasty, wonderful,, good food, fast,, friendly & cheap. Cons: Spicy, flavorful,, fresh menu, might, not appeal to all.. more

cheap, my hiney! 10/7/2002

Doc Chey's costs about as much as most noodle houses and Asian food restaurants. Sure, they knock a dollar off with their cafeteria style dining, but realistically, the food quality is poor and the piddling amount saved isn't worth it. Thye're only on here because they strive for college age people and put up the front that they are somehow less expensive. All I have to say is $5 for 2 eggrolls. Bamboo Luau is cheaper and has better food and hours. more

Oodles of Noodles 10/3/2002

Convenient location, GREAT FOOD, reasonable prices and a fun atmosphere. What more could you possibly want? Pros: Bargain, Great food, Fun atmosphere Cons: Crowded, Limited parking, "Cafeteria" style more

Can You Say Yummy for Your Tummy! 10/1/2002

The food is solid! The service is great and the value is unbeatable. Can't miss here. Pros: Great Food, Cheap Price, Great Value more

Use your Noodle, Eat here! 9/28/2002

Great food in a family friendly atmosphere. The food is fast and flavorful, service is friendly and quick, and a nice patio area for eating outside. Pros: Inexpensive, Patio, Family friendly more

what is it with this place? 9/19/2002

I really don't know why people love this place so much. Maybe they like food that is blah. I know it's cheap, but come on. Go down the street to Ma Li's or Harry's and Son's! Cons: food more

Noodle me this, noodle me that. 9/12/2002

Maybe I just keep ordering the wrong thing, but the food here kind of sucks. The food is cheap though, under 6 dollars. Not a good date place. Pros: cheap, Location Cons: food more
