I've eaten here dozens of times. The restaurant is always packed, and the food is always consistently delicious! You can't go wrong with any dish, but my favs are the tibs (chicken or fish) with injera and ater. Service is friendly, generally efficient, and unobtrusive. The tables are spaced a little closer together than I'd like, and the chatter from other patrons make conversations a little challenging. Still, Desta is one my most favorite spots. I've brought a variety of friends with me on different occasions, and everyone leaves a raving fan. more

A new favorite restaurant more

Editorial review from GrubHub 5/15/2013

The take-out experience at the restaurant feels ad-hoc and ill supported. The servers ask for your name or sometimes ask for the food you ordered. The restaurant does not provide a very nice area to wait for your food. You must continually get out of the way of the waiters inside. Since it was a nice day we moved outside to an extra picnic table outside the main seating area . Some 'customers' showed up and asked if they could use the table. This made me very uncomfortable as they had an air of entitlement to the table. I acquiesced and moved to the junky oil stained sidewalk/parking lot to play with my daughter. They sat down at the table without queueing to talk to the hostess about being seated. At 6:30 the food was given to me. I would eat here again. I would order through GrubHub again. more

The best Ethiopian Atlanta has to offer. Definitely try the fish tibs and shiro and don't be afraid to dive in with your hands. more

A place worth your time 4/11/2010

Even though the restaurant is small, the food, service and atmosphere is worth ever minute of you being there. You know how you go to a restaurant to see if their service or food changes in time, well this place, they have been around for about two years or so, and still maintain good service and quality food. The only thing is, you have to remember, place is small, but in a way it is good, because if it was a big place, maintaining such good service would be tough. Pros: Service, food and price Cons: Space more

Can't Beat this Ethiopian food! 10/26/2009

I must preface this by saying that this is the only Ethiopian restaurant that I have visited several times and never been dissapointed. I have been remised to write a review on the first few occasions I visited, but I just had to this ""upteenth"" time I went last night! The food is delicious. The service is friendly and all the meals are presented in contemporary dishware that's not snubbish but perfectly chique. The atmosphere is warm and inviting and the background music is just right.\r Most of all the items I've ordered have all been fresh every single time I've been. One time I visited for breakfast and ordered Shiro but couldn't get it because it was still on the stove. Now that's refreshing! (keep in mind it is the kind of dish that could be reheated days after without really affecting the taste). The only cons so far are: the space is really small so for large groups it's best to book ahead and go early. However if you and you date both like Ethiopian food or are ready to explore a new cuisine please do not hesitate...Their food is wonderful! Pros: The Quality is consistent Cons: Really tiny place wish they had bigger table more
