Cornell Dairy Bar

This is definitely one of those places that you have to check out if you attend Cornell. Try to go at the beginning of the year when it is still warm out, although I've enjoyed ice cream from the Dairy Bar in the winter too. This is Cornell's homemade ice cream and it is as good as I've ever had. What is great is that they have a lot of unique flavors that go way beyond your plain old vanilla and chocolate. more

The Cornell Dairy Bar is where one of the places they serve the ice cream made right on the Cornell Campus. The ice cream comes in tons of different and sometimes weird flavors. They have all your standard ones like chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry, but they also have a lot of unusual ones. Every year, there is a contest to see which team can come up with the best new ice cream flavor and name. The winning ice cream flavor is served at the Cornell Dairy Bar. This is a must for every Cornell student. It's one of those things you have to do during your tenure at Cornell. more

Cornell makes quite possibly the best ice cream served in Ithaca and it is available fresh at the cornell dairy bar. They have an incredible variety of tasty ice cream. The only drawback is its distance from ithaca and central cornell campus. They also make very good cheeses which are great gifts during the holiday season. more

This may be the tastiest ice cream parlor in Ithaca. Cornell ice cream is made right there on campus from fresh milk straight from the Cornell farms in Harford, NY. Their sundaes are great as well as their shakes, floats and yogurt AND hot soups, pizzas, subs, sandwiches, wraps, and drinks. I had a great hot fudge sundae there the other day with Coconutty Spring Thaw, Espresso Chunky Chip, and Strawberry (made with strawberry puree and sliced sweet strawberries)--- their ice cream ingredients are awesome. They can pack ice cream to go, even if you're driving 5 hours away. They can even come up with a specialty ice cream for a special event (call 255-3272 and ask for Bonnie Hart or Vinnie Nykiel). The Cornell Dairy Bar is directly across the street from a metered parking lot and there is also a bus stop located directly in front. In the summer, you can sit out front in the patio. more
