They replaced the right front drive axle on my '99 Maxima for 1/2 of the price Monro wanted to charge and did it well. I would recommend the shop. They also changed my oil at at a fair price and changed the brakes on my car at a reasonable price.

My experience with Honda of Ithaca is that the customer service is superb. They have been more accommodating to my needs when I purchased a vehicle than any dealer I have ever purchased a vehicle from (and I have purchased a minimum of 40-50 new cars in my lifetime). Their workmanship is excellent and they do their very best to accommodate the needs of the customer. I highly recommend them for both sales and service. And if for any reason; you are unhappy, just speak with the management, and I am certain they will go out of their way to be helpful.

I came back to Ithaca from New Hampshire for a small gathering of old classmates. I was in my BMW 740i when in Richford my idler pulley broke for my water pump. I had the car towed to Wilcox Tire per a recommendation. Kelly who works for Wilcox tire worked hard at trying to find parts for this the same day but there was nothing local or within 60 miles that wasn't special order. I was able to locate the parts back here at Stratham BMW and had a person that was traveling this way bring them to me in Ithaca. I put the parts in the car and left the keys in the key envelope provided by Wilcox out front for dropping cars off after hours. My note was quite detailed as this was my Beemer and wanted to make sure it was treated as such. Kelly called me on Monday and said the car was all done. When I asked what the damage was I was floored at the price. $95.00 to balance 4 tires, clean up the engine area where fluid had leaked, repairs the damaged pulley. Now what would another shop do? I don't know but they could have easily taken advantage of the situation. I recommend going to Wilcox Tire and speaking to Kelly and Steve to have you car repaired. They will tell you exactly what the issue are and what it cost period. No BS there. Great shop, great people.

Pros: Nice guys, knowledgeable, reasonable fees

I recently had my 1999 Ford F-150 serviced at Maguire Ford and they got me right in with no troubles...I was able to drive right in and actualy talk to someone that new what they were talking about instead of a clerk that just took my name and truck info. I was able to tlak directly with the TEAM Leader in charge of the guys working on my truck.....John Rapone was great and very friendly..while I waited in there lounge I walked on to the lot to check out new Trucks and was greet with a well dress professional guy named Clayton and he was eay going and did not pressure and actualy answered some questions that I had on some new trucks even thoug he new I was not buying anything...when I walked back through the showroom to the service department all the sales people looked professional and upbeat. The cashier told me that my truck was done and where it was parked. When I went out I found that my truck was not fixed but WASHED...they washed my car I looked on the bill and they did not charge me for it...I asked one of the guys out back why and he said "that is what we do, its magurie's".

This auto repair shop is conveniently located in the center of town across from the Seneca Street parking garage (remember, you get 2 free hours of parking here) on Aurora. But, best of all, the folks at Patterson's seem good, honest, and have the ability and know-how to work efficiently on all types of cars, even my '70 VW Bug. They don't charge an arm and a leg for little things, either. I can't give them a 5-star rating because I haven't had any big problems with my ca (yet!), so I have no way to evaluate them on really serious probs.

Bill Cooke is the probably the best imported car dealership in Ithaca (can't speak to their US-made dealership). Good selection of brands (Audi, VW, Volvo, Suburu, Toyota), decent range of cars on the lot (for a small town). Pricing isn't too competitive, but you'll need to head an hour to a real city to compete on that score. The trick to dealing with them is to realize that the better salespeople handle the higher end cars, yet anyone can sell any make/model. So head to the folks who handle the Audis and Volvos, know what you want and what you'll pay, and you ought to have a professional experience from then on.
